The ongoing feud between Barbie and Oppenheimer rages on. But it seems that a bit of collateral damage is now on the menu, as we learned in a recent Nerdist interview with Barbie’s director, Greta Gerwig, that there will be a joke in the movie poking fun at Zack Snyder fans. While the interview never explicitly reveals that Snyder is the butt of the joke in this case (only referring to a “particular fandom online”), it’s made fairly obvious by the fact the interviewer asks if Gerwig gets a free pass because Margot Robbie is part of the DCEU.
“If We Offend Men, I’m Going To Be So Excited” – Barbie Movie Star Is Ready For Backlash
As Warner Bros. moves past the DCEU and into the DCU, the studio seems to not be interested in pulling any punches. Jokes about the Snyderverse are usually met with heated online discourse, and the latest Greta Gerwig interview is no exception. Fans from both sides of the argument were quick to voice their thoughts on social media, and that’s even before we even know what the joke is even about.
Cries of “#BoycottBarbie” and “Barbie > Zack” were among some of the most liked comments, while some more sensible users just agreed that Gerwig has the right to joke about whatever she wants in her movie.
Some online commentators still consider the push for the release of the Snyder Cut to be a demonstration of the fandom’s “toxicity.” While the campaign was unlike anything the internet had seen so far – leading to the release of a revamped and improved cut of a flawed movie – Snyder fans can be notable for their fervent devotion to their favorite filmmaker. However, calling the entire fandom “toxic” for the actions of a vocal minority would be disingenuous, to say the least.

Dwayne Johnson has opened up about why Black Adam is no longer part of DC’s grand plans.
Barbie has now made $1 billion at the box office – and there's no sequel on the horizon. Neither writer-director Greta Gerwig nor her co-writer (and real-life partner) Noah Baumbach has a contract for Barbie 2, but that doesn't mean the studio hasn't tried to convince Gerwig.
box office predictions help to give curious movie fans an idea of how the new DC movie is shaping up to perform. With Shazam 2, Black Adam, and The Flash underperforming, DC movies are under a lot of scrutiny right. Will Blue Beetle be the movie to break the trend, or will it continue DC’s poor luck in theaters? Here are the latest projections.
Hogwarts Legacy has only been out for about half a year, but Avalanche Software may already have a sequel for the RPG game planned. Set in the 1800s, Hogwarts Legacy takes the Wizarding World and its students back in time before the more contemporary setting of the Harry Potter series rolls around. It blends features fans looked forward to seeing in a Harry Potter game, but also lacks some bigger ones such as Quidditch. A job listing posted by Warner Bros. Games could point toward a sequel that has those missing elements, though.
Even before I got to the theater, I saw the pink.

With only a few weeks away from its theatrical release, curiosity is high about the movie’s status in the DC Universe. Is the upcoming film part of the so-called DC Extended Universe, or is it the first DCU installment? Also, is the titular hero joining Batman, Superman, and the other DC heroes? Here’s what you need to know.
Bet you'd never imagine reading this sentence: Evil Dead Rise fans have spotted a parallel between the horror sequel and Barbie. It's a stretch, yes, and it's toe-tally weird to boot, but they've spotted it – and taken to Twitter to highlight it.
What does this summer’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesanimated movie have in common with 2011’s oddball superhero flick The Green Hornet? A name: Seth Rogen.
Barbie is consistently hilarious, but it might not have been the case if Greta Gerwig snuck in a joke that she thought was “really funny” – and no one else agreed.
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, the 1993 animated movie that got a theatrical release (and is a longtime favorite of this author), has been remastered for 4K Blu-ray.
