Intel's Meteor Lake chips are coming to desktops after all

Intel Arrow Lake-S Desktop CPUs will be the next major family for high-end PC gamers and entry-level workstation users. While we wait for the chips to launch in 2024, there are several reports & leaks that tell us what to expect.

Action tends to fall between two extremes, tactical and arcade.  In tactical action you bide your time waiting for the right moment to make your move, assessing the enemy’s movements for an opening and then exploiting it for all it’s worth, while in arcade games you do the same thing but really fast.  Go Mecha Ball falls squarely into the latter camp of game design, with a kitty-mech stomping through battle arenas and shooting down all the rogue glitch-bots in its path.  Which is a fairly pedestrian thing for a kitty-mech to do, so it also rolls up into a ball to smash, bounce, crash, and beat on any bot that’s unlucky enough to get in the way.

Intel is rumored to launch its Meteor Lake CPU lineup with Core Ultra 7 & 5 chips first followed by Core Ultra 9 laptops in 2024.

In a new video, Intel has demoed the video playback capability of its Meteor Lake iGPU and its Low-Power E-Cores.

It will host a ceremony at its Fab 34 facility near Leixlip, Ireland at 12:45pm Irish Standard Time. Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger will be in attendance.

As the Intel Meteor Lake launch nears, rumors on the next-gen Arrow Lake & Lunar Lake CPUs have already started floating on the internet.

In a surprisingly unsurprising development, Intel has clarified its position on the upcoming Metoer Lake architecture. It's not coming to the desktop. The problem is that only last week Intel's Michelle Johnston Holthaus,  executive vice president and general manager of the client computing group, said it was. Or at least, it seemed like she did.
