Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has received new gameplay and details thanks to various hands-on impressions over the past few days. Indiana Jones Game to Tackle the Series in a “Unique Way,” Will Likely be Revealed in 2024

Bethesda Game Studios and creative director Todd Howard have just launched Starfield, but fans are already looking forward to the Toddster’s next big project. In this case, it won’t be another RPG – Howard is executive producing an Indiana Jones game being crafted by Wolfenstein developer MachineGames. We haven’t heard much about the game since it was first announced back in early 2021, but in a new interview with Esquire, Howard provided a few fresh hints about the title. Per Howard, the new Indy game will bring the franchise to life in a unique way, with a particular focus on exploration.
“I am a giant Indiana Jones fan. It can be brought to video games in a unique way. The game is obviously, you’re exploring stuff. It’s about him. So if you’re playing the game, how do you feel that you are indeed playing versus just watching?”
As for when we might learn more about the Indiana Jones game, Howard did promise that “we’ll talk next year.” Whether that means a full reveal or simply another tease, remains to be seen, but MachineGames has been quietly working away for some time (on both Indy and a new Wolfenstein title) so 2024 seems like a reasonable time to show something.
Of course, there already have been some hints about what the new Indiana Jones game is about. The reveal teaser for the game teased this would be an Indy-in-his-prime adventure, set shortly before the outbreak of World War II, with some of the action potentially set in Rome. So, the Nazis are almost certainly back and we might be doing some Da-Vinci-Code-style sleuthing. A more recent set of rumors have stated the game will mix first and third-person perspectives, with individual sequences potentially offering different styles of gameplay.
