Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road Worldwide Beta Test Demo for Switch launches March 28, fifth trailer

It's truly the end of an era for Nintendo fans, as online services for 3DS and Wii U have finally shut down. With it, we say goodbye to online multiplayer for the likes of Splatoon, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Pokemon X and Y, and Xenoblade Chronicles X, with everything shutting off for good at 5pm PT/8pm ET yesterday (or 1am GMT this morning for UK folks). 

Following the demise of the popular Nintendo Switch emulator Yuzu, several other projects based on it began development, and one of them, Sudachi, was recently updated to support the console's home menu.

An official Pokemon account has put together a video promoting the Nintendo 3DS, just hours before the servers are taken down. LEVEL-5’s soccer RPG series Inazuma Eleven will make its PlayStation debut later this year, when new entry Victory Road arrives. But before then, a crossplay beta test will kick-off around the world, giving fans their first taste of the title. Said beta will launch first on Nintendo Switch from 28th March, but while there’s no date attached to the PlayStation version, we probably won’t have to wait long.

The latest update to the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service has added the classic Game Boy Advance game F-Zero: Maximum Velocity to the list of playable titles. The Nintendo Switch Online subscription service gives subscribers access to a wide range of classic Nintendo games from a variety of console generations. Some of these games are available to all Nintendo Switch Online subscribers regardless of tier, while some require the Expansion Pack.

Koji Kondo joined Nintendo in 1984 and ended up composing basically every memorable theme from the Mario or Zelda series. The legendary composer had a particularly wild idea for a stage effect in last year's Super Mario Bros Wonder, and while that idea was rejected, it did end up giving Kondo the opportunity to bring his voice to the game.
