Earlier this year, Kinetic Games announced that its acclaimed multiplayer horror title Phasmophobia would be coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PS VR2 soon, though the wait for that has dragged on a little longer than expected. Originally set to come to consoles in August, the release was delayed to October, though Kinectic Games has now announced another delay.
Hyenas Has Been Cancelled

Sega has just announced that it has cancelled Hyenas, its hero-based multiplayer shooter that was set to launch later this year.
"In response to the lower profitability of the European region, we have reviewed the title portfolio of each development base in Europe and the resulting action will be to cancel 'Hyenas' and some unannounced titles under development," Sega wrote in its public structural reform letter. "Accordingly, we will implement a write-down of work-in-progress for titles under development."

Hyenas just held a closed beta from August 31 to September 11, which in hindsight, was the last window for players to try it themselves. Earlier last month, there were also rumblings of problems behind the scenes. Sega said that Hyenas was a "challenging" game to develop and that it had been reviewing its business model and making adjustments.
Looking to the future, following these cancellations, Sega said, "We expect to record losses of approximately 14.3 billion yen for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, but there are no changes to the full-year consolidated operating results forecast for the fisical year ending March 31, 2024 at this time. In the consumer area, several new titles, including mainstay IPs, will be released from the third quarter onwards and the amusement machine sales area, where the prize category is performing well, and the animation and toy area are performing solidly."
Hyenas was only anounced in last June. Developed by Alien: Isolation's Creation Assembley, the idea was that you'd pick from a list of 'heroes' and then race the other team to rob more "pop-culture artifacts". It was set to launch sometime this year for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, but no concrete date was ever given prior to its cancellation.
Given Sega's lofty ambitions for Hyenas, wanting it to make over $900 million in lifetime sales and even calling it a "Super FPS Game", it's no wonder that it didn't meet expectations. Players didn't take to it after reveals, betas, and gameplay trailers, with the latest teaser, from August 16, garnering 8,000 dislikes to its 1,000 likes. The announcement trailer from last year didn't fair much better, reaching 1,400 dislikes and only 370 likes.
