How to relive your year in music: Unveiling the YouTube music app 2023 recap experience

The New World team is,once again, discussing their methods of storytelling, with a highlight on music and sounds. In prior videos, they’ve touched on the subject, particularly with Brimstone Sands, but now, after four seasonal releases and the first expansion, Rise of the Angry Earth, there’s a lot more to talk about.

It’s hard to believe, but we’re already nearing the last bit of 2023 before we bring in the New Year. It was a thrilling year for new video game releases. We had several titles across all the platforms that players likely were eagerly awaiting to pick up. However, that doesn’t mean every game released was a gem. Instead, there were some games that most would tell you to pass up. Today, we’re finding out that Metacritic has unveiled the worst video games of 2023. 

Sony has applied to patent systems that automatically fiddle with «parameters that change the difficulty of the game» based on your performance, a patent on the World Intellectual Property Organization's website reveals. (Actually, the patent reads «difficultly» at the time of writing, so Sony may in fact be referring to the implementation of dynamic cults. But probably not.) As spotted by Eurogamer, Sony's proposed system would allow a game to adjust its difficulty settings—«movement speed, delay or hesitation, character strengths, numbers of competitors» and so on—based on «an expected level of performance.» The idea isn't new, though the implementation may well be.

If you're a podcast lover and use Google Podcasts to enjoy the latest episodes of your favorite shows, then there is bad news for you. Google has announced that its app will soon be discontinued, and after mid-2024, you will not even be able to migrate your shows and episodes to another app. So, if you do not want to start over with a different app and manually add all your shows and episodes, then this is the time for you to be proactive and move your RSS feed to a different platform. Another year done, another crop of gadgets and gizmos to pit against each other in the GamesRadar+ Hardware Awards. 2023 was a fantastic year for PC and console alike, with a new suite of RTX 40-Series graphics cards hitting the shelves and new console entries from both Microsoft and Sony. In between all that, though, we've also experienced some of the best headsets, controllers, keyboards, VR headsets, and chairs among all the other gaming tech to grace the shelves in the last 12 months. 

The biggest online phenomenon of the year is an animated video series that primarily appeals to children, filled with obscure internet and gaming references that most adults wouldn't understand, and with a name that all but screams scatological humour.

As the viral horror franchise continues to grow, Damien Leone teases plans for a video game and haunted house experience. The slasher movies center on the menacing Art the Clown as he enjoys a bloody streak of murders in a fictional New York town, as well as survivors Victoria Heyes and Sienna Shaw as they grapple with the trauma of encountering the killer. Though the first movie garnered mixed reviews, its 2022 sequel was a critical and commercial hit, opening the door for 2024's and potentially further installments.
