Following up on the overwhelmingly positive response to Stardew Valley Update 1.6, developer Eric «ConcernedApe» Barone has revealed Patch 1.6.4, which adds even more content and fixes a number of bugs. How To Get (& Use) Tent Kits In Stardew Valley

In , you can now use Tent Kits to set up temporary Tents outdoors. Newly added in the 1.6 Update, Tents allow players to rest, save their games, and progress to the next day. Tent Kits are a great utility item while you’re away from the creature comforts of your farmhouse, but they can be challenging to craft.
You must level up your Foraging skill in order to unlock the crafting recipe for Tent Kits. Unlike other new items, such as 's Mushroom Log, which doesn’t require much Foraging experience, the Tent Kit requires Foraging Level 8. Players will also need to collect the right resources, including Hardwood, Fiber, and Cloth.
To craft a Tent Kit, players need 10 Hardwood, 25 Fiber, and 1 Cloth. These resources aren’t particularly hard to obtain, but Hardwood and Cloth are not immediately available to new players. Hardwood is a valuable resource used in many crafting recipes, and it’s essential for making equipment to process Artisan Goods. It can be obtained from different sources, most of which require upgraded tools:
The most reliable source of Hardwood can be found in the Secret Woods, where players can find six Large Stumps. These Large Stumps regenerate daily, allowing you to collect up to 12 Hardwoods a day.
Players who chose the Forest Farm can also find extra Large Stumps on their farms.
Cloth is an Artisan Good created when Wool is processed in a Loom. Wool can be obtained from Rabbits or Sheep, which require either a Deluxe Coop or Deluxe Barn, respectively. These building upgrades are expensive but worth the cost if you’re planning to make animal products your biggest export. Rabbits are among best farm animals and a sound investment overall.
You can also obtain Cloth by recycling Soggy Newspapers in a Recycling Machine or occasionally receive it from Emily as a gift. However, weaving Wool with the Loom is the most consistent source of Cloth.
Finally, Fiber can be obtained by cutting down Weeds, which makes it very easy to obtain. By mid-game, your farm will likely have more Fiber than you need.
Once you have a Tent Kit, you can place it outdoors, subject to certain limitations. Tents take up a 3x2 area and cannot be placed in the Mines. Once the Tent is deployed, you can use it in the same way you use the Bed in the Farmhouse. Sleeping in a tent saves the game and advances time to the next day at 6 AM.
Some Tent Kits can be found in the jungle on Ginger Island and as a prize for winning the new Trout Derby .
Tents can only be used once and aren’t permanent. Given the resource cost, you shouldn’t necessarily craft many Tent Kits. However, it’s a good idea to carry while exploring, just in case you can’t make it back to the safety of your farm before the day ends in . If you want to see a
