Helldivers 2's mechs are "ready for deployment" soon, say Arrowhead

It's been a turbulent few days in the Helldivers 2 community. Arrowhead Game Studios (and the Ministry of Truth) has finally admitted that flying bugs are real, and the airborne critters are currently running wild in the game. We were also given a seriously tough Major Order from galactic game master Joel, which tasked us with liberating five planets in just three days.

Helldivers 2 has a pretty wild controller layout. From mashing directional keys to order stratagems to switching between first and third person, to swinging the camera around as quickly as possible to watch an orbital laser melt a giant bug - there's a lot going on. 

With the release of the 10.2.6 content update, players can get swept away in the Plunderstorm1— a fun, new, limited-time, pirate-themed event of prodigious proportions lasting the next several weeks. Scour the map and try to be the last pirate standing while dashing across the Arathi Highlands to find abilities, upgrades, and loot to plunder just to survive!

Keep your head down, Helldiver, blue sniper beams (that may or may not exist) are rampant. Helldivers 2 players have been sharing footage of what seems like a new unfriendly faction in the game, though the shooter's director is determined to suppress such anti-democratic lies. 

Helldivers 2 players who literally want to watch the world burn have put forward a spicy suggestion for a new Stratagem, which sounds like it has the potential to be incredibly powerful, if not massively risky for your fellow teammates. Enter the idea of the Guard Dog Flamethrower – an auto-firing companion bot that can spew flames whenever it wants, at whatever it wants.

As the Galactic War in continues to evolve, new challenges are constantly being introduced, giving players plenty of opportunity to experiment with new strategies. A recent Major Order has refocused the war effort on the Terminid front, tasking Helldivers with activating the newly operational Terminid Control System in unique missions similar to those in the failed Automaton defense campaign. Getting the Terminid Control System up and running brings its own difficulties to the game, however, and there are a couple underrated Stratagems that can really shine in these unique missions.

Street Fighter 6 just recently welcomed Ed, and now, players are getting a new trailer about the next character coming to the game, who is actually a demon. During the Capcom Highlights showcase event, the developers dropped the teaser trailer for Akuma and said that the character would be coming to GTA 6 within time.

There is no shortage of big bugs to tackle in Helldivers 2, not least the colossal Terminids known as Bile Titans, but if the latest fan theory is to be believed, a much bigger and more formidable foe is on the way.

Helldivers 2 players worked hard to unlock mechs, liberating the planet of Tien Kwan. They were clearly very eager, as they accomplished the task much faster than the devs anticipated. Now, players can call down the Exo-45 Patriot Exosuit into battle, although they aren't finding them as powerful as expected.

The upcoming addition of mechs is a source of significant excitement in , but getting them could require some extra effort in the Galactic War. As a feature first introduced in the original, exosuits provide a unique way to power up at the cost of mobility. For soldiers used to deploying on missions with light armor and outrunning enemies whenever possible, their inclusion in could represent a big shift in strategy.

After a few incendiary statements from development and community figures poured kerosene on the debates dominating the Helldivers 2 player base after its recent balance patch, Arrowhead CEO and game director Johan Pilestedt stepped in to assure players that such snippy remarks are "not a message that the studio stands behind."

Arrowhead's CEO Johan Pilestedt has apologised for some spicy developer responses to players complaining about Helldivers 2's first major balancing patch, which made certain Helldivers 2 guns and equipment pieces significantly less powerful alongside other adjustments to the new shooter's armor system, maps and missions.
