Helldivers 2 – LAS-99 Quasar Cannon, MG-101 Heavy Machine Gun Stratagems Now Available

We are a few years into the latest generation of console platforms—specifically the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Neither of the two platforms has come out with a pro model, which typically bumps up the power. It’s not a new generation of gaming with these pro models, but they do give better performance and visual options. Today, we’re learning of a new report that suggests the PlayStation 5 Pro test kits are available for developers to order. 

Between wiping out the Automatons and finding out they’ve returned,Helldivers 2 players have had their hands full recently. Fortunately, some new weapons are available to help even the odds courtesy of the Democratic Detonation Warbond. It adds three new primary weapons: the BR-14 Adjudicator Rifle, CB-9 Exploding Crossbow and R-36 Eruptor Rifle.

A number of Helldivers 2 trophies can no longer be unlocked. And while Helldivers 2 is hence currently impossible to platinum, there's reason to believe that players will eventually get another chance to grab these trophies.

While Arrowhead Studios does an excellent job of introducing mechanics and concepts to players, one aspect that isn't clarified when starting up the game is how interplanetary travel works. Fortunately, with such a committed player base, it didn't take long for players to learn about supply lines but despite the discovery, many are still unclear on how they actually work.

After suffering a recent, but narrow major order defeat, Helldivers 2 players are asking developer Arrowhead Game Studios to implement a way to see supply lines between planets. Part of the appeal of Helldivers 2, outside of the chaotic nature of missions where unplanned events can take place, is the game's living world. As players take on missions, they directly influence the galactic war by liberating planets, or on occassion, losing them to the enemy factions as well. This push and pull aspect keeps the game feeling fresh and dynamic, as the global map is constantly changing as progress is made or lost.

Helldivers 2 has been nothing short of a revelation, having enjoyed critical and commercial success to degrees that even Sony or developer Arrowhead Game Studios would have dreamt. But even with all of its success, has it become one of PlayStation’s bigger properties? Johan Pilested – CEO of Arrowhead and director of Helldivers 2 – certainly hopes to see it get to that level one day.
