Helldivers 2: how to get and use Warbonds and Super Credits

In Final Fantasy 7: Remake, Cloud was usually alone or with just one or two other companions at a time. Aside from a few instances, mainly combat trails and VR missions, you never had to worry much about party management during the story. In Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth, your crew starts out at five and only grows from there.

We’re not saying any of the Terminids in Helldivers 2 are appealing to look at, but the Bile Spewers are disgusting even in comparison to others like the Charger. They’re big, they glow green, and they vomit their deadly acid on you from surprising ranges. These enemy types tend to be easy pickings in other games, but this time around, they’re one of the most deadly. Not only can their acid kill you outright if you take a full mouthful, but the Spewer itself isn’t a pushover in terms of health. Like any bug, it isn’t invincible and there are some tactics we have to share to help you squish this one the next time it shows up.

While the majority of your success lies in which weapons and armor you carry when facing off against the Terminids and Automatons on various missions in Helldivers 2, you shouldn’t overlook what your ship can do to support you. Besides just naming your destroyer, there’s far more you can do to customize it with modules. Whereas weapons and Boosters will impact you and your squad on a more constant basis, ship modules come in clutch when you need to bring out the big guns, aka Stratagems. These power weapons are already enough to turn the tide of a tough fight, but when you add in the right ship modules, you’ll be cooking bugs for breakfast.

The most important part of any ship has to be its name. In Helldivers 2, you’re fortunate enough to get a vessel all of your own right away, meaning you need to come up with a name on the spot from the available presets. If you’re unprepared, you might enter something that you end up wishing you could change, but there isn’t an obvious way to edit your choice after it’s been made. In other games, you might need to spend some currency like Warbonds or Super Credits to alter something like this, but that’s not the case here. Once you know the trick, you can alter your ship’s name whenever you wish.

As much fun as Helldivers 2 is for those who are able to play, there have unfortunately been a number of issues preventing fellow soldiers from doing their part. Some, like matchmaking issues, do have methods to get around them and back into the fight, but what if you see the «Login limit reached» message when reporting for duty? While none are guaranteed to work, there are a few workarounds you can try to get back to the game.

Armor sets in Helldivers 2 will affect more than just some stats and numbers behind the scenes. Just like your primary weapon, the type of armor you pick will dictate your playstyle and needs to be heavily considered before each mission. Each one comes with a different rating in three stats, plus there’s a passive that makes it stand out, but all fall into either light, medium, or heavy roles. While the number of options isn’t terribly overwhelming, comparing and contrasting all those stats and abilities on top of things like Boosters and Stratagems can become tedious. If you just want to get out there and blast some bugs, here are the best armor types to pick in Helldivers 2.

It turns out that it isn’t the bugs or robots in Helldivers 2 that are the biggest threat. Server issues have been the biggest issue for some players. You might be loaded up with the best weapons and have a crew ready to drop and spread some democracy the hard way, only to get shot down by an error message stating that the servers are at capacity. Some errors like this do have ways for you to work around them, but is that the case this time?

There are a lot of factors to consider when designing your perfect build in Helldivers 2. I don’t need to explain the importance of things like choosing the best weapon, but other parts of your loadout play just as big a role when your boots hit the ground.

Once you get beyond the early and mid-game crafting options in Enshrouded, the types of materials you will need will only get more difficult to get your hands on. One particularly useful item you will want to craft often is leather, which you will need something called Ammonia Glands to create. Considering leather is necessary for upgrading your inventory space to the highest level, everyone will want to get their hands on it.

Helldivers 2 has already become a huge success, with tons of soldiers ready to spread democracy across Super Earth. With such a heavy emphasis on co-op play, matchmaking issues are far worse than any bug or robot you could encounter. As is all too common these days, Helldivers 2 players have been experiencing some issues where matchmaking is failing to join lobbies. While we wait as developer Arrowhead works diligently on correcting the issue officially, there may be some tactics you can try to get yourself back into the action.

If you thought Helldivers 2 would get any easier as you made it deeper into the game, think again. Even if you’ve unlocked most or all of the game’s weapons, that doesn’t mean a massive monster can’t come out of nowhere and flatten you in mere seconds. The first time you encounter a Charger, that’s probably what will happen.

When it comes to your firepower in Helldivers 2, the weapons you procure during missions easily trounce whatever you’re deploying with. The only downside is that you can never count on which ones you will find, if any. Therefore, whatever you slot into your loadout needs to be able to keep up with the threats you’re likely to encounter. Most weapons tend to have a stronger utility when facing different enemy types, but there still exists a hierarchy of guns that simply outclass the others.
