343 Industries has a new job opening up for a Multiplayer Playlist Designer.
As shared by Rebs Gaming, this is explicitly for Halo Infinite. The description on the job opening from Microsoft’s website says this:
“In this role you’ll design, implement, and manage playlists that align with the needs of Halo Infinite. You’ll work with partner teams to ensure content (maps and modes) is properly represented in our playlists and aligns with scheduled game events.
You’ll also help to find, vet, and add community made Forge content to playlists, working directly with Forgers to help ensure their experiences meet expectations.
As Multiplayer Playlist Designer you’ll hone your collaborative skills, utilize our internal playlist tools, and play a hands-on role that directly affects the player experience in Halo Infinite.”
Now this sounds like a great way to make your way into 343 Industries, but make no mistake: this is a high ranking managerial role, and it’s not really one for people who aren’t already in the industry to go into.
This is definitely good news for Halo Infinite fans. It’s a sign that the game is doing so well that Microsoft and 343 Industries are incentivized to make the game even better at a deeper level.
As was reported in other websites such as Windows Central, Halo Infinite is now enjoying a recent resurgence, following some poor news of layoffs from earlier in the year. SteamDB was able to track the number of active players going up to over 18,000 last October.
What this means is that the player base that had stopped playing Halo Infinite for a while is definitely still interested in playing it. Winning over those players and getting them to come back is a matter of keeping them entertained with new content.
And that’s the reason that 343 Industries now needs a multiplayer playlist specialist. Halo Infinite is designed around multiplayer, and in between major seasonal updates, it is the playlists that 343 has to depend on to keep the players playing.
It’s what will make the difference between those Halo Infinite players popping back in every few months when the newest season arrives, and those players sticking around to keep playing in between those seasons.
Perhaps this all comes with the hope that, with more playlists for fans to play around in, they will get even more players to join in and populate the player count to the numbers that this game needs to realize its potential
