Ghostrunner 2 publisher 505 Games has shut down offices in Germany, Spain and France.
The office closures were first reported today by Gamereactor, though 505 told Eurogamer this is part of a previously announced review.
«Today's news regarding our European offices is a part of our original announcement from November regarding 505's business review,» 505 told Eurogamer.

«The video game market has evolved since the pandemic to be more selective in terms of new games, with consumers increasingly reverting to well established Intellectual Properties and playing these same games for longer periods,» the company said in November.
Just yesterday, it was announced that Remedy Entertainment — the developer behind Alan Wake and its sequel — had acquired the full rights to its Control series from 505 Games for a cool €17m.
The video game industry has seen a flood of studio restructuring and layoffs over the past 12 months. This year alone, an estimated 7800 people have been impacted by layoffs within the sector.
Last night, EA announced another round of layoffs, which will affect five percent of staff (around 670 employees). Earlier this week, meanwhile, Sony announced it was laying off 900 employees globally. This news followed word that Until Dawn developer Supermassive had cut 90 jobs, while Life is Strange: True Colors studio Deck Nine confirmed it will be laying off approximately 20 percent of its total workforce. Additionally, job cuts have been reported at Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games.
As for 505, and in more positive news, it recently published the Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake. 505 acquired the Brothers IP back in 2015.

In a repeat from last weekend, the animated adventure Kung Fu Panda 4 and Dune: Part Two led the box office, per Deadline. Both movies maintained their strong performance, with Panda experiencing only a 48% decline, accumulating $30 million in its second weekend and reaching a domestic total of $107.7 million. Meanwhile, Dune saw a 37% drop, earning $29.1 million in its third weekend and bringing its domestic total to $205.3 million.
Outcast: A New Beginning is the sequel to one of the very first open-world games ever made, simply called Outcast, but it's also taking cues from games that have come out in that two-decade gap by letting players explore an entire alien world "without any restrictions."
The domestic box office received a nice shot in the arm this weekend thanks to Kung Fu Panda 4 and Dune: Part Two, which helped propel business 13% over last year, per Deadline. DreamWorks Animation’s fourth entry in the long-running franchise featuring the voice of Jack Black got off to a hot start, earning $55 million in its debut week. This makes it the second-highest opening for Po and Co., trailing only the original Panda’s $60M opening in 2008. That film earned $631M worldwide, followed by Kung Fu Panda 2’s $664M and Kung Fu Panda 3’s $521M. How high can Po fly? With an A- CinemaScore, on par with the original, there’s a chance this one legs out to solid worldwide numbers.

Italian publisher 505 Games has shuttered several of its European offices in France, Germany, and Spain, the result of a business review conducted in September. Just yesterday, we told you that Remedy Entertainment had acquired full publishing rights for Control back from 505 Games.
Developer Remedy Entertainment has announced it has acquired the full right to the Control IP, something it previously shared with publisher 505 Games. Remedy reportedly paid 17 million euros for the privilege; however, 505 Games will remain publisher throughout 2024 while the transition takes place.
