Using Wriothesley’s best build and team comps in is the ideal way of optimizing his potential as a DPS and a Cryo catalyst character – the first of his kind, in fact. The Fontaine character was teased prior to the release of the Nation of Hydro, but has finally made his debut as both an NPC and a playable character in 4.1, becoming an ally to the Traveler. Wriothesley is a main DPS and, given his Vision and weapon combination, he opens up several possibilities for team comps and builds. You can focus on Cryo-based teams in a way that relies less on cooldowns and Energy.
This is because, not only can Wriothesley constantly apply Cryo on enemies through his Normal Attacks, but his gameplay kit also incentivizes him to do so, as that is his main source of damage. Like Neuvillette in , for instance, Wriothesley also thrives on an HP-loss mechanic that allows him to deal even more damage when his health fluctuates. Using Wriothesley is a risk-reward scenario, but if you build him properly and give him a solid team comp structure, you will not be risking too much, and will still be getting a lot of rewards in the form of intense Cryo damage against opponents.

The best weapons that you can give Wriothesley are catalysts that focus on pure damage output in. The strongest one for him is his signature 5-star Cashflow Supervision. This catalyst has a solid base ATK stat (674 at level 90) but impresses with a great CRIT Rate sub-stat (22.1% at level 90). The best detail about this weapon, however, is its skill, which works around Wriothesley’s kit. Equipping Cashflow Supervision grants an immediate 16% boost to ATK. When the user’s HP decreases or increases, their Normal Attack DMG will be increased by 16%, while the Charged Attack DMG will be boosted by 14% for four seconds.
The effect can be triggered every 0.3 seconds and when all three stacks have been gathered, the user’s ATK SPD will be increased by 8%. Cashflow Supervision attends to all of Wriothesley’s needs and even gives him bonuses for losing HP and then having his health restored by a healer. The only issue is that it can only be obtained through the gacha system whenever it is featured in the weapon banner. A viable 5-star substitute for it is Wanderer’s signature Tulaytullah’s Remembrance. Its ATK (674 at level 90) and CRIT DMG sub-stat (44.1%) are fantastic for a DPS character in like Wriothesley.
Its skill increases Normal Attack SPD by 10% and after the user unleashes an Elemental Skill, Normal Attack DMG will increase by 4.8% every second, for 14 seconds. After hitting an enemy with a Normal Attack during this period, the Normal Attack DMG will increase by 9.6%,
