Genshin Impact version 4.5 update ‘Blades Weaving Betwixt Brocade’ launches March 13

There’s been drama brewing in the HoYoverse fandom for some time, but it may have reached boiling point following the announcement of Honkai: Star Rail’s latest update, Into the Yawning Chasm. As the game celebrates its first anniversary, the gacha game developer announced rewards of up to 1,600 Stellar Jade and up to 20 Star Rail Special Passes. For the uninitiated, this represents 30 free pulls on a character or weapon banner.

The version 2.1 update for Honkai: Star Rail, dubbed “Into the Yawning Chasm,” will launch on March 27, developer miHoYo announced.

Genshin Impact and Discovery Channel have announced the Teyvat Nature Discovery Tour, a joint initiative seeking to raise awareness about a number of fragile natural habitats. The collaboration comprises a Genshin Impact online event, an offline benefit sale, and a mini-documentary voiced by Game of Thrones star Kit Harington and several other celebrities.

The Genshin Impact version 4.5 release time is getting close, with the update due today, March 12, at around 8pm PT / 11pm ET / 3am BT (March 13). As ever, patches technically arrive a day early thanks to time lag from Chinese developer Hoyoverse, but the exact release time will depend on maintenance downtime. If we're lucky, version 4.5 may arrive up to an hour early. 

Game Arts’ legendary Grandia series is coming to PS4 and Xbox One with the Grandia HD Collection. It’s out on March 26th and includes remasters for the first two games (which will be backwards compatible on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S). Koei Tecmo will release a demo for Winning Post 10 2024 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on March 14 in Japan, the company announced.

Publisher Cygames and developer Cygames Osaka have shared new information and footage for the Granblue Fantasy: Relink version 1.1.0 update due out on March 14, as well as announced that Sandalphon will join the roster of playable characters as part of the version 1.3.0 update in May, and shared first footage of April-due playable characters Seofon and Tweyen.

A recent revenue report reveals that Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail achieved impressive sales figures in February 2024. Both games run on a gacha system, which means that most of the revenue comes from players spending their real-life money to pull for limited characters and weapons.

Xbox console exclusive Killer Instinct: Anniversary Edition has received another comprehensive update that introduces gameplay improvements, visual refinements, and a plethora of bug fixes, among other novelties. This patch arrives nearly 11 years following the original release of Killer Instinct.

Tactical RPG Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery will launch for PC via Steam on March 22 for $24.99, followed by Switch, iOS, and Android at a later date, publisher XD and developer Sunborn Network Technology announced. A Deluxe Edition will also be available for $39.99. From March 22 to April 5, an 18 percent-off launch discount will be applied to both editions.

Genshin Impact is partnering with Chinese smartphone developer OnePlus to release an exclusive themed phone based on popular five-star character Keqing. The massively popular RPG from HoYoverse has featured a variety of collaborations since it debuted in 2020, with fans getting the opportunity to show their love for the game with plenty of unique merch. The developer has previously partnered with KFC and Pizza Hut in China for promotions featuring the game and even created a Ganyu VISA credit card in partnership with China Merchants Bank. Now, the game's newest collaboration could give fans a new way to play.
