Genshin Impact Version 4.0 Adds Nation of Fontaine, New Characters, and Underwater Adventures

HoYoverse made a splash during the Opening Night Live stream at Gamescom today. Not only did they present Genshin Impact andHonkai: Star Rail content, but they brought a trailer and some details about ARPG Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ), which they announced last year but have otherwise been quiet about. 

miHoYo confirmed its presence at Gamescom with titles like Honkai: Star Rail but also took the stage at Gamescom Opening Night Live to showcase Zenless Zone Zero. Announced last year, the latest trailer revealed new details and locations in New Eridu. Check it out below.

It's launch day for the next chapter in Guild Wars 2 with the release of the newest expansion, Secrets of the Obscure on PC. This is the fourth expansion, but the first following the 10-year-long Elder Dragon Saga. Like all regions in Genshin Impact, Fontaine has several reward sources called a Shrine of Depths, locked gazebo-like structures that require a special, region-specific key to unseal. Getting the keys is easy enough, though it’s pretty time-consuming, and there are more keys than there are Shrines, as the Fontaine region will continue to expand as Genshin receives additional updates. Lumidouce Bells are another character Ascension material unique to the new Fontaine region in Genshin Impact. While they are plentiful, the more characters that release who come from Fontaine, the more likely you’ll need to have a huge stock of Bells to get everyone to level 90. Thankfully, Lumidouce Bells grow in groups of three per plant, and where you can find them, there are almost always at least two. Genshin Impact 4.0 is now available to play! The long-awaited version is finally out, meaning you can start to explore Fontaine – the Hydro region. Yes, this means that the Hydro archon will be making an appearance.

Genshin Impact has been updated to version 4.0 and there’s a lot of new content along with the usual bunch of bug fixes. There’s a new area, Fontaine, a new story, new equipment, and new characters Freminet, Lyney, and Lynette.

The Emperor of Fire and Iron is one of two new respawning world bosses in the Fontaine region of Genshin Impact, and finding and defeating it is the only way to get Ascension materials for the new 5-star character Lyney. You’ll need 46 mats in total, so expect to be farming the boss frequently if you manage to pull Lyney and want to max him out to level 90. We’ll cover how to find and beat this new challenge in this guide.

Developer HoYoverse (formerly known as miHoYo) announced the release of the Genshin Impact 4.0 update across all platforms. Titled 'As Light Rain Falls Without Reason', this patch adds the Fontaine area to the game; more specifically, these areas will be available to players: Court of Fontaine Region, Beryl Region, and Belleau Region.

HoYoverse announced via social media channels that two new characters that will be coming to Genshin Impact: Wriothesley and Neuvillette.
