Genshin Impact co-op hack explained, Dev takes action with recent patch

Genshin Impact is getting version 4.1, «To the Stars Shining in the Depths», on September 27th. Expect  a new zone opening up in the northern area of Fontaine, new playable characters, new Archon Quest, and more to discover in the deep sea. HoYoverse is also preparing to celebrate the global hit’s third anniversary.

Genshin Impact Version 4.0 is coming to a wrap, and as always, a new major content update is on the horizon. The Genshin Impact Version 4.1 livestream premiered today, revealing all of the new features we can expect in the upcoming update. Players can expect to experience the game’s third anniversary, including special rewards and a new playable area to explore in Fontaine. But more importantly, players can expect to spend more of their hard-earned Primogems on two new 5-star characters: Wriothesley and Neuvilette.

The 4.1 livestream codes are now available for redemption, giving players a few free in-game items that can help them either enhance their characters and weapons or simply get more pulls out of the gacha banner system. As a live-service title, the popular RPG often receives new updates and, before these patches arrives, the related content is announced by developer HoYoverse during a special livestream program. Aside from a preview of what the next update is bringing to the game, the livestream also features a few special codes that can be redeemed for free prizes.

Roughly a month after Version 4.0 added Fontaine, new quests, and underwater exploration, Genshin Impact’s next update is on the horizon. miHoYo Games has announced a Special Program Preview for Version 4.1. It will air on September 15th on the game’s official Twitch channel (after which it will be available on YouTube).

Genshin Impact has a great collection of characters to pull for and use in your teams. Hu Tao is a fiery-spirited character with a devilish streak. With the power of the ghosts, Hu Tao saps some of her own HP to deal immense damage. Through use of third-party plugins, bad actors could abuse a Kaveh ability in Genshin Impact to explode Dendro Cores and delete any interactable entity in the overworld. The situation is now resolved, with the developer HoYoverse making a statement that the issues have been fixed and perpetrators have been banned.

Currently, Genshin Impact has guaranteed everyone at least one Lynette through the limited-time event, “The Curtain Never Falls On Magic.” Unlike Lyney, you’ll need to travel all over Fontaine for Lynette’s Ascension materials. However, you don’t need to dive to get everything. You can ignore the underwater and underground content if that’s too overwhelming. But Lynette is fantastic for your underwater exploration, so you’ll want her on your team at some point.

Genshin Impact gamers were left stunned after hearing reports of a gamebreaking, yet undeniably amusing hack involving Kaveh that allowed players to delete in-game objects and bosses from the game. And by deleting, we mean deleting. Kaveh, a beloved Dendro character renowned for his goofiness and bumbling personality, was turned into a horrifying villain in-game as he was able to wipe away certain features of the game permanently in co-op mode. While no one could expect Kaveh to turn into an asset assassin, HoYoverse has issued a prompt statement and fixed the issue.
