Thanks to the clever thinking of one gamer, a broken PSP has been repurposed as a great housewarming present. Sony's first attempt at creating a handheld PlayStation with the PSP is now a relic of the gaming past, but this fan's creative way of giving the handheld console a second life is incredibly interesting.
For those who remember, the launch of the PSP feels like ages ago. Now nearly 20 years old, the PSP was a fun attempt at bringing a portable PlayStation to life. The PSP may not have been as popular as other handhelds, but it had a solid run and is still beloved by many gamers who have great memories with the console. There were some great games on the PSP, like God of War: Chains of Olympus and GTA: Chinatown Wars, but the portable console had some serious competition. Sony's PSP went head-to-head with the Nintendo DS, which ultimately became the more popular handheld.
However, there are many fond memories of the PSP, and one creative Reddit user known as DevotedResidency found the perfect way to reuse a broken one. While helping their brother move, DevotedResidency found the old PSP. Since the PSP was already broken, DevotedResidency decided to turn the Sony relic into a great piece of art instead of just throwing it away.
DevotedResidency broke the PSP apart, arranging and displaying the various pieces in a shadow box. There have been many instances of gamers finding their old PSP memorabilia, but this method of reusing the handheld after it has been broken is incredibly clever. DevotedResidency posted their work to the PlayStation subreddit where many comments have praised the creativity and thought put behind such a special gift. Some would just throw a broken PSP away, but DevotedResidency found the perfect opportunity to create a unique housewarming present.
Although this portable version of the PlayStation didn't reach the same highs as its competitors, there is still a lot of nostalgia for the console. With recent rumors of a new PlayStation handheld being in development, portable versions of the console still drum up excitement. Handheld consoles have come a long way since the PSP's 2005 launch, and after Sony's recent release of the PlayStation Portal, it would be fascinating to see another attempt at the original PSP concept. The PSP is a fun reminder of how far gaming has come, and DevotedResidency's gift is a thoughtful way to preserve the handheld's memory.
The PSP, or PlayStation Portable, marks Sony's first leap into the handheld gaming space, usually dominated by Nintendo. Their compact system featured small discs and featured quite a few PSP-exclusive titles during its run. Its direct competitor was the Nintendo DS during the seventh-generation of console wars.

Some Helldivers 2 players are unhappy with the bullet ricochet changes implemented with Update 01.000.300. Patch days have always been somewhat contentious within the Helldivers 2 community, often because of the introduced balance changes included with the patch along with the wave of bug reports that follow in the wake of every update. Its latest patch was, unfortunately, no exception to the established pattern, and many players have since flocked to social media to call for a quick fix to what appears to be a problem with the game's ricochet mechanic.
Sony seems to be putting more of an emphasis on day-one PS Plus game releases, with one of those being the upcoming Animal Well. This curious indie game has always looked like an intriguing, lo-fi platformer, and we can't wait to delve into it on 9th May as it arrives on PS5 and PS Plus Extra. The Trophy list is now available to view online (thanks, Exophase), and it looks like you'll need to trawl the Metroidvania's map for secrets if you want that Platinum gong.
Housemarque turned a lot of people into fans of its work with 2021’s Returnal, which, of course, means the studio’s next project is going to have more eyes on it than any of its past titles. But while it doesn’t look like the developer is ready to share details on its next big title just yet, it looks like another announcement related to Returnal might be coming soon.
A Helldivers 2 player has discovered a hilarious glitch in the game that has caused one of the most brutal deaths ever. Helldivers 2 offers many strange ways that players can die in the game, but this latest death is as unfortunate as any that has come before.
As the only British baseball fan on Planet Earth, I had one simple mission when I first arrived in Taipei: to choose a local team to support. Taiwan is infatuated with America’s former favourite pastime, and it’s even dedicated a spot on its $1,000 note to a celebrating squad. After much deliberation, I settled on the Rakuten Monkeys for one rather simple, primitive reason: they’d just signed Korean cheerleader Lee Dahye.

May 30 is going to be a sad day for many fans of Xbox, as the company will begin deleting game captures on that date. The changes coming to Xbox will only be for content stored on the Xbox Network, so gamers storing their game captures through this will need to think of a backup plan.
A well-known PlayStation hardware modder has combined some exciting PSP mods to build the 'ultimate' version of the handheld console. The PSP first launched in December 2004 as Sony's first handheld gaming console, and this project proves how it's still an icon of the industry.
When Sony recently announced plans to bring PSVR2 to PC. It got me excited for PC VR because of it's excellent capabilities and since the Reverb G2 in 2020 there hasn't been a similarly equipped tethered headset at that price point of under $600.
