Perhaps the biggest addition to Samsung's Galaxy S24 series was the inclusion of AI features. Galaxy AI is a suite of generative-AI-fueled features that will help you throughout the daily tasks you might perform on your smartphone. This quickly went from a selling point to something Samsung began rolling out to everyone as well, including those with older phones. Now, a new batch of older phones is getting Galaxy AI features.
Samsung has confirmed that Galaxy AI features would be coming as part of the wider One UI 6.1 rollout to 2022 and 2021 devices as well. The rollout is currently scheduled for May, and for what it's worth, Galaxy AI is the biggest thing in this update—it's otherwise pretty similar to what your phone already has with One UI 6. The rollout of AI features for phones released in those years is only limited to flagship devices, sadly, so if you happen to have an A-series smartphone released around those dates, it's not clear right now whether you should expect the arrival of any AI feature down the road at all.
The big caveat here is that for these older devices, there's some features that you won't be getting. Namely, with the 2022 phones, you'll be getting most features except for Instant Slow-Mo. Apparently, these phones will be getting "Galaxy S23 FE-level AI." The Galaxy S23 FE notably comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, like the S22 series, so it's probably hardware restrictions what's keeping Instant Slow-Mo out of these phones. The phones that will be getting this tier of features include the Galaxy S22 series, the Galaxy Z Flip 4, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, and the Galaxy Tab S8 series. On the other hand, 2021 phones will not get most features, and instead, it will be getting Circle to Search and a new feature called "Magic Rewrite." The phones that will be getting this are the Galaxy S21 series, the Galaxy Z Flip 3, and the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
It's a bummer that not all phones can get all features, but it's what we have. The update should be rolling out next month, so be in the lookout.

The Galaxy S24 lineup was introduced with Samsung’s first AI-powered software suite called Galaxy AI. Given that the new models accounted for 53 percent of the Korean giant’s Q1 2024 operating profit, many would conclude that these features would be one reason for their popularity. Unfortunately, based on a separate rumor, the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra will disappoint in the battery department, as it sticks with the same 5,000mAh battery as previous-generation models. However, Samsung intends to raise that backup by up to 10 percent with something called ‘Battery AI.’

Strangely, despite the rules being first revealed in 1989, its inclusion will mark the first time Sabacc has ever graced a video game.
