The Deck of Many Things is coming to wreak havoc on your next Dungeons & Dragons campaign on Nov. 14. Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum has stopped a Pokémon promotional card giveaway due to what it called “safety and security” concerns for visitors and staff.

Well, this is just Trubbish. The Van Gogh Museum, which recently held a Pokemon collab that got a bit hectic, announced it will no longer distribute its Pikachu promo card at the physical exhibit starting October 14. If you want the Pikachu in Grey Felt Hat collaboration card, you’ll have to shop online for a qualifying purchase.

Last month, a horde of scalpers descended upon the Van Gogh museum in an attempt to nab themselves a Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat promo card, a special card that is being distributed as a collaboration between The Pokemon Company and a Pokemon-themed museum exhibit. In an effort to get ahead of everyone else, scalpers stormed the opening day of the collaboration with the goal of grabbing a card and putting it on Ebay at a ridiculous price, with some going for as much as $600.

Listen, we know video games are not cheap. It can be an expensive hobby, especially when you have so many big-name titles launching into the marketplace. Even the more minor games that come out all add up rather quickly. Plus, we can’t forget to mention that this latest generation of console platforms saw the rise of a new standard for AAA releases. We’re paying $69.99 now for a brand-new AAA game release. So, knowing what games to purchase at launch and which to toss on the back burner until a sale comes around is crucial for our bank accounts. Fortunately, there are sales that happen rather regularly.

As part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Van Gogh Museum, a crossover event and exhibition with The Pokemon Company is being held to celebrate Pokemon artwork inspired by Van Gogh’s works. As part of this celebration, a promotional and time-limited Pokemon card, Pikachu With Grey Felt Hat, was also on offer.

CI Games, publishers of Lords of the Fallen, just announced an Alienware giveaway in partnership with Lords of the Fallen. This Souls-like dark fantasy action RPG releases on October 13, but before purchasing it yourself, you could earn it for free, alongside an Alienware laptop!
