Fate/Samurai Remnant DLC ‘Record’s Fragment: ■■■ Sword Chronicles’ launches April 18

The rumored April 2024 Nintendo Direct may not be happening after all. This news, which is likely to disappoint some Nintendo fans, comes from the same insider who originally reported on the possibility of Nintendo doing an early spring game showcase.

Arc Games and Gunfire Games have announced that Remnant 2’s next paid DLC, The Forgotten Kingdom, will launch on April 23rd. Retailing for $9.99 and included in the $24.99 DLC bundle, it sees players returning to Yaesha to investigate a lost tribe. Check out the announcement trailer below.

Publisher Arc Games and developer Gunfire Games have announced Remnant II downloadable content “The Forgotten Kingdom.” It will launch on April 23 for $9.99, and is also available as part of the $24.99 downloadable content bundle.

Mortal Kombat 1 downloadable content character Ermac will launch on April 16 for Kombat Pack owners and April 23 for all users, publisher Warner Bros. Games and developer NetherRealm Studios announced.

This coming Monday, April 8 is set to be a particularly sad day for Nintendo fans, as that's the day that the online services for the company's Wii U and 3DS systems will shut down forever. Online service shutdowns are a sad reality of modern gaming, effectively blocking players from enjoying the online components in various games, and in some cases, erasing entire games from existence. This isn't the first time that Nintendo has shut down the online services for its consoles, so many fans have been anticipating the same fate for the Wii U and 3DS.

Nintendo will be discontinuing online services for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U consoles at 4pm PDT on April 8, 2024. While it had previously closed the eShop for these devices, which stopped players from further downloading any DLC for their games, this new server shutdown will impact many actual games, as it will remove online play, internet rankings, and anything that involves data distribution.

Cosmo Machia will release shoot ’em up game TriggerHeart EXELICA for PC via Steam on April 26 worldwide, followed by Switch on May 2, the developer announced.

Square Enix will release a demo for SaGa Emerald Beyond for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on April 4, the company announced.

Square Enix has announced that SaGa Emerald Beyond will receive a free demo on April 4th. It’s available at midnight local time for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PS5, while PC players can access it via Steam at 9 AM PDT.

Tekken 8 downloadable content character Eddy Gordo will launch on April 4, Bandai Namco announced. Character Year 1 Pass owners will be able to access him three days earlier on April 1 at 4:00 p.m. PT / 7:00 p.m. ET.

Nintendo of America is reportedly cutting around 120 contractor jobs as part of a restructuring of its testing department ahead of Switch 2’s launch.

Post-apocalyptic point-and-click adventure game Rauniot will launch for PC via Steam and GOG on April 17 for $17.99 / £14.99 / €17.49, developer Act Normal Games announced.
