Far Cry Extraction Shooter is One of the Games Reportedly Under Development at Ubisoft

When Clockwork Revolution appeared at this year's Xbox Games Showcase, fans were surprised to see actual pre-Alpha gameplay from inXile's next game. As reported prior to the announcement, it's a steampunk roleplaying game led by the makers of Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura and powered by Epic's Unreal Engine 5. Unlike Arcanum, which was played from an isometric point of view, the upcoming project is a strictly first-person game.

Bethesda's Starfield is awash with things to eat or drink, from half-eaten club sandwiches to bits of steaming alien gizzard, but chugging your fill has always been fussier than it needs to be, involving a trip through the game's irritating menus. No more! The next Starfield patch, which is currently available as an opt-in Steam beta, will let you guzzle things without opening your inventory, on top of various tweaks to the game's graphics and quests.

Ubisoft has laid off more than 100 staff, continuing what feels like an unending wave of layoffs across the video games industry. The latest job losses spanning visual effects and IT departments come less than six months after the Assassin’s Creed and Rainbow Six publisher made dozens of custom service staff redundant.

Embracer Group’s chief operating officer has confirmed his departure from the company.

If you've been playing World of Warcraft for long enough, you've probably heard stories about datamined and cut content over the years - much of which has been repurposed eventually. Take the Dragon Isles, for instance, which were a zone originally cut from the game way back in the original game's alpha, but which are now the elaborate setting for the most recent Dragonflight expansion. And now, Blizzard may have just teased the canonization of one of its most notorious, creepy pieces of cut content: the Karazhan Crypts.

With Ubisoft rumoured to be working on a singleplayer sequel and some kind of live-service multiplayer follow-up, the studio has gently put Far Cry 6 out to pasture. While the game's online services will continue, it won't receive any updates in future. Yara will forevermore be what it is today, at least until those online services get switched off too.

Ubisoft has announced that it will no longer be releasing any updates for open-world first-person shooter Far Cry 6. Announced through a post on social media platform X, the company stated that the online services for Far Cry 6 will continue to function.

It's been less than a month since Super Mario Bros. Wonder was released, and noteworthy speedrunners have already been making waves with their records for clearing the game. However, the Wonder speedrunning community has been even more active lately after discovering a major exploit that changes the speedrunning game entirely. Just recently, the current world record has been beaten by speedrunner Jhay, with the new top time sitting at one hour and 34 minutes. And it's all due to an exploit that allows players to bypass an entire castle without ever setting foot in the level.

I don’t know if you noticed, but the Avatar franchise is great. Last year’s The Way of Water was a gorgeous, moving film, and you’re missing out if you haven’t visited Pandora: World of Avatar over in Walt Disney World. So, yeah, I’m a fan. That’s why I was happy to get a chance to try a few hours of the upcoming game, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which comes out on December 7 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Ubisoft has announced that Far Cry 6 will no longer receive updates.

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 (which I'll be calling 'Bloodlines 2' from here on) has had a troubled history. Its initial developer, Hardsuit Labs, fired both the game's lead writer Brian Mitsoda and creative director Ka’ai Cluney in 2020. A senior narrative designer, Cara Ellison, left later that year. Then Hardsuit Labs got booted from the project entirely in 2021.
