The resurgence of the Fallout games is seemingly causing issues with popular modding portal Nexusmods.
The debut of the Fallout TV series on Amazon earlier this month has caused sales for the Fallout games to soar - especially in Europe where Fallout 4 claimed the first spot in the weekly charts. The renaissance of the Fallout games, however, also appears to have an effect on the modding community with tons of PC players once again looking for mods for the Fallout games. The status page for the popular modding website Nexusmods reports that it's "experiencing much more traffic than usual due to the popularity of the Fallout TV series". According to Nexusmods, the team has deployed additional resources and it monitoring the uptime and performance across the network. At the time of writing, the portal is still experiencing issues due to high demand.

Skyrim was 2011. Fallout 4 was 2015. Starfield was 2023. Development cycles are growing longer all across the industry, but for Bethesda in particular, it's felt like the company has really struggled to create a consistent pipeline — especially in the last decade or so. This is even more apparent when you factor in projects like The Elder Scrolls 6, which was barely a concept when it was first announced in 2018.
