A Fallout 3 fan has built the iconic location of Megaton in Far Cry 5 Arcade mode. Many Far Cry 5 fans have used the Arcade tools to build unique things, but this may be the most impressive Fallout 3 build from the game mode.
Far Cry 5 was released with a creation tool in Arcade mode that has allowed players to create a variety of locations. Though the game is set in Hope County, Montana, many Arcade creations look like nothing from the campaign. Gamers have used Arcade mode to make Skyrim's Breezehome, Blockbuster Video, and Far Cry 2 environments. While Far Cry 6 was released in 2021, Arcade mode was notably absent. This has resulted in many creative fans reverting to the prior game to express themselves. One gamer has built Fallout 3's Megaton using the Far Cry 5 Arcade tools.
YouTuber Mojo Swoptops recently shared a video of their Far Cry 5 Arcade creation. The build is based on Megaton, which is often the first city that players will encounter after escaping Fallout 3's Vault 101. The video begins with the player entering the city under a welcome sign and walking down the hill to the undetonated bomb the location is named after. Beyond the item clutter reflecting the post-apocalyptic landscape, some iconic Megaton scenery includes the leaking pipes, the irradiated pond under the bomb, and the multiple layers of buildings. While the bomb doesn't look exactly as it does in Fallout 3, the surrounding area makes it clearer.
Emphasizing the nature of their creation, Mojo Swoptops has also applied the Fallout 3 UI to their Megaton tour. Given that the location is missing the familiarFallout 3 NPCs, there are fewer things to do in this version of Megaton. Players won't be able to start the quest to blow up Megaton in Moriarty's Saloon, they can't join the Church of the Children of Atom, and they can't help Moira with her Wasteland Survival Guide. While it isn't as alive as the real Megaton, this creation highlights just how detailed the worlds players create in Arcade can be.
As this isn't Mojo Swoptops' first Arcade creation, the player may share more Fallout builds in the future. While Ubisoft hasn't updated Far Cry 5 in a while, this attempt at recreating Megaton showcases the game's continued potential. Because Far Cry 7 hasn't been announced, it's unclear if Arcade mode will be brought back or if it will remain a staple of Far Cry 5.
Far Cry 5 marks the fifth installment in the mainline first-person shooting franchise. This adventure follows players through an open world as they deal with enigmatic cult leaders known as the Seed family.

The Fallout 76 player who nuked Phil Spencer's in-game camp wasn't protesting the recent closure of Bethesda studios but had instead been planning the attack for weeks.
Fallout fever is at an all-time high thanks to the new Amazon show, so much so that it's bleeding into other games.
Amazon Prime’s Fallout TV show has supercharged excitement in the Fallout IP, leading to a significant surge in player counts across a variety of Fallout titles on Steam, but also for Fallout London, a fan-created mod for Fallout 4 that may as well be an entirely new entry in the series due to the breadth and scope of the project.
The full list of Fallout 4 settlements offers over 30 different areas for the sole survivor (you) to set up shop and develop the land in whatever way you like.
Fallout 5 won't start development until after The Elder Scrolls 6 launches, so we're a long way off from the next numbered game in the series, but the Amazon show has ignited a newfound hype in the franchise. So, the question is whether a third party will develop a spin-off akin to Obsidian's New Vegas in the meantime.
A gamer recreated Searchlight, a town found in Obsidian Entertainment's critically acclaimed Fallout: New Vegas, using the Far Cry 5 engine. The 2010 RPG and its sibling, Bethesda Game Studios' Fallout 4, have seen their respective player bases rise following the recent release of the Amazon Prime Video television adaptation.
Fallout London's developer, Team FOLON, was supposed to be celebrating the long-anticipated launch of its fan game today. However, with Fallout 4's current-gen update just days away from going live, that isn't possible, and the game has been pushed back until fixes are made.
An established Ubisoft leaker recently fueled some wild speculation with a cryptic post that some fans interpreted as a hint that Far Cry 7 will star Cillian Murphy. While the insider subsequently dismissed this theory, the Far Cry teaser still ended up stirring quite a bit of chatter among the fandom.
Team Folon’s Dean Carter, project lead on the highly anticipated mod Fallout London, has opened up about how Bethesda’s upcoming Fallout 4 update impacted the studio, saying the team felt “blindsided” by the move.
Cillian Murphy won't be in Far Cry 7, says Ubisoft leaker and YouTuber j0nathan.
Cillian Murphy could star in Far Cry 7, following on from Giancarlo Esposito's turn as the villain in Far Cry 6.
