New rumors have begun to circulate surrounding a PlayStation State of Play event later this week. If true, the showcase could unveil several new titles and provide updates on highly anticipated PlayStation-exclusive releases such as and .
XboxEra's co-founder, Nick «Shpeshal Nick» Baker took to X with a cryptic tweet, stating that on roughly January 31st, "" and concluded with "" The hints to several upcoming PlayStation titles were evident, and led many to believe a PlayStation State of Play could be imminent.
RinoTheBouncer then decoded Baker's post, and provided a list of exactly which titles had been hinted at, albeit with an «UNCONFIRMED» disclaimer. Rino listed previously known titles such as, Bloober Team's remake,,, and, which were unsurprising considering some of their release dates due this year.
However, this list also included some surprises such as a PS5 or PC re-release of Supermassive Games' horror title, which would bring the PlayStation-exclusive title to PC for the first time, and would align with the announcement of a movie adaptation of the game that's in development with and director David F. Sandberg at the helm. The title in question could be the Sonic and Shadow-led game that was rumored in December 2023, or it could be a first look at Shadow's movie appearance in the film coming later this year, as Sony has also revealed movie and TV trailers in the past, particularly for game adaptations.
If these rumors are true, players only have to wait a mere matter of days to get a look at what PlayStation has in store. With the titles hinted at so far, the next State of Play is sure to be an impressive one.

It's been fairly quiet on the No Man's Sky front since its previous big update, Echoes, introduced the world to a mysterious new robot race known as the Autophages last August, but all that changes today with the release of its new Omega update — which coincides with a first-ever free weekend for the exploratory space sim.
Over the past week, Xbox fans have been thrown into turmoil by rumors that indicated everything from Starfield, to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, to the Gears of War franchise may jump to PlayStation and other platforms. Some leakers have since walked those rumors back, saying Starfield making the jump is unlikely, but the horse is already out of the barn and speculation about the future of Xbox is running wild. Microsoft itself hasn’t exactly doused those flames, as they haven’t stepped into deny anything, but instead promised a “business update event” for this week.
Well, this is something we didn't quite expect: everyone is obsessed with Helldivers 2. Seriously, if you'd told me even three days ago it'd outmuscle Suicide Squad, I never would have believed you. And yet, here we are.
Xbox has announced that a special edition of the Official Xbox Podcast will air on Thursday, February 15 at 3 PM Eastern Time. During the podcast, Xbox will address recent rumors that many of its exclusive titles will be going cross-platform in the future.
The Official Xbox Podcast episode dropping later this week is going to be a big one. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer, President of Game Content and Studios Matt Booty, and Xbox President Sarah Bond will finally address rumors that have been tearing the Xbox community apart for the past week. After promising an update on "the future of Xbox" in the wake of multiplatform rumors about games like Starfield and Indiana Jones, Microsoft has confirmed that a podcast with several top gaming executives is set to land this Thursday.
One week ago, we reported on a bombshell rumor that Microsoft might be bringing Starfield to PlayStation 5. Well, now it seems the rumor has been completely debunked, by one of its sources no less.
