A new update for the survival crafting game Enshrouded that includes new content, as well as quality of life improvements and bug fixes, has gone live. The update is part of Enshrouded's recently unveiled roadmap for the Early Access phase.
Enshrouded revolves around surviving the Shroud, a malignant fog that causes death in humans. As the Flameborn, players are resistant to its effects and the only one that can return the world to what it once was. Souls-like combat against humans and those twisted by the Shroud mixes with resource collection and crafting as players explore five distinct biomes.
The update to version 0.7.1.0 is a beefy one and already live on all platforms. It includes five new dungeons, known as Hollow Halls, and new enemies to slay. There's one Hollow Halls in each biome that corresponds to the level of the area. New enemies can be discovered in the dungeon's depths, as well as a new NPC, requiring players to have some of the best Enshrouded survivor skills equipped to survive. There's a new quest to complete for the Alchemist and the Farmer can create potted plants. The Carpenter finally has round doors and windows, perfect for those hobbit homes players have been designing.
That's not all the Hollow Halls update has. It also addresses a number of quality of life improvements and bugs. The UI got an overhaul for easier use, stack splitting has increased options, magic chest items are automatically pulled to crafting stations. When it comes to surviving with friends with Enshrouded's multiplayer, players can now ping on the map to direct compatriots to a specific location. Bug fixes include incorrect mana consumption for the Begone and Sun Aura skills, getting catapulted when trying to go to bed, and the stuck quest marker for the Southern Caravan even when the mission was completed.
All the improvements and new content features to explore cement Enshrouded'sposition as a possible Game of the Year 2024 contender. The roadmap details a number of items the team at Keen Games is working on, and players can already see how the changes will impact the game. Expanding on the existing lore, a new survivor NPC is sure to add at least three new quests and new crafting items. With a steadfast building community, the inclusion of round doors and windows is sure to keep those players entertained until the next update. The quality of life updates show the team is listening to the fanbase and implementing changes that best match what the community is looking for.
Even though Enshrouded launched right after Palworld, it has a solid place in the open world, survival crafting sub-genre of the industry. With more updates like the Hollow Halls one, it could become one of the largest survival games of the
