When I think about what's cool in the Dune universe – what really sets it apart from other epic sci-fi – I think of a lot of the same things Shiro Games has chosen to focus on in Dune: Spice Wars. There's the complex galactic politics, the smooth blend of the futuristic and the ancient, and the deadly, sweeping splendor of Arrakis. When I first reviewed it in Early Access, Spice Wars already felt like a reasonably complete RTS. And after a year and a half of additions and refinements, it gleams even brighter.

Supergiant Games announced during last year's Game Awards, revealing that the game will be releasing in early access before a full launch just like its predecessor, and to expect more details in 2023. We've had pretty much nothing radio silence since then, but SuperGiant has finally lifted the lid on Hades 2 and revealed thyat the game will be launching in early access ast some point next summer.

Supergiant Games, the company behind Hades and Bastion, has revealed that it will launch Hades II into Early Access in the second quarter of 2024 on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The company stopped short of revealing a concrete date, though. 

It’s been a long nine months since Supergiant Games announced Hades 2, the sequel to Polygon’s 2020 Game of the Year Hades. On Thursday, the developer finally broke its silence and offered an update on the game: Hades 2 will release in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store in Q2 of 2024, somewhere between April and June of next year.

Modern Warfare 3 Early Access will be available to certain players up to a full week before the game releases officially. This news follows the full reveal of Modern Warfare 3, which will task players with taking down the formidable Vladimir Makarov.

Yesterday, The Astronauts laid out plans for the early access launch of Witchfire, exclusive to PC via the Epic Games Store for a year. It revealed that two maps would be available, each “more or less” the size of the world in The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. The real question is: How long will early access be for?

Funcom’s Dune: Spice Wars will exit early access for PC on September 14th. Developed by Shiro Games of Wartales and Northgard fame, the 4X real-time strategy is based on Frank Herbert’s Dune. It will launch with its sixth major update, adding House Ecaz for six playable factions.
