For those looking for a change of scenery with their controllers, Sony has announced a new stylish addition to the DualSense wireless controller family, the Sterling Silver DualSense for PS5. This luxe makeover arrives as part of the PS5's "Deep Earth" DualSense series, joining the Cosmic Red and Midnight Black colors. While those controllers aimed to go for a space exploration/night skies kind of vibe, the Sterling Silver opts for a more refined, premium aesthetic.

A DualSense V2 controller has appeared on Best Buy Canada’s website, leaking an improved version of the PS5 controller with up to 12 hours of battery life.
The DualSense V2 is priced at $89.99 CAD, which is the same cost as an original DualSense.
This revised controller apparently features “exceptional 12-hour battery life, on a full charge” per the Best Buy listing, which would make a significant uplift from the roughly 8 hours that is expected from the original DualSense, and even more of an uplift compared to what you can get out of a DualSense Edge pro controller).
In practice, we would expect that actual battery life is dependent on the features that you’re using and games that you’re playing. With a built-in microphone, and variable strength for the haptic feedback motors and the adaptive triggers, there’s a lot of gadgetry stuffed into each DualSense controller. You can get better battery life for reducing the strength of the trigger effects, for example, and certain games use the triggers more than others.
What’s not clear is how Sony would be achieving this improvement. Are they simply adding a larger battery to the DualSense controller? Both the DualSense V1 and the DualSense Edge use the same 1560mAh battery pack. If Sony increased that in size to around 2250mAh, they might be able to claim 12 hours. Alternatively, they could have made tweaks to the rest of the controller, making the chipsets more efficient, modifying the triggers and haptic motors, and making power savings that way. Most likely, it’s a mixture of the two – Sony has already fiddled with the inner workings in the last few years.
It’s a pleasant surprise to see Sony actually addressing one of the main bug bears with the PlayStation 5, but while we don’t yet have a release date for the controller, the timing is rather odd considering that it could have come alongside the PlayStation 5 Slim revision last year.

Sony might be launching an updated version of its PS5 DualSense controller. A now-deleted listing on the Canadian Best Buy store revealed a V2 PlayStation gamepad, which does appear normal on the surface but comes with an ‘exceptional 12-hour battery life' at maximum charge (via The Verge). This would be a massive upgrade from the existing DualSense controller, which comes with roughly 7-8 hours of juice, depending on the game. Priced at CAD 89.99 (about Rs. 5,580), the post also mentioned a click-in charging station that would be included within the box, making it convenient to play for longer hours and tuck it away neatly.
