Baldur's Gate 3 is Larian Studios' magnum opus, a roleplaying sandbox of such size, quality, and depth it's doubtful we'll see anything like it for years — decades even — to come. Larian Studios' interpretation of the rich Dungeons & Dragons setting perfectly complements the gameplay mechanics fine-tuned in its Divinity: Original Sin series, which is another way of saying it's a bit more complicated than your average RPG. The game is available now on PC, and releases on PS5 on 6th September 2023.

Terra Memoria is a cosy RPG with a gorgeous pixel art style and crunchy turn-based combat, and it's «coming soon» to PS5. We got a new gameplay trailer teasing the kind of adventure interested players can look forward to, one filled with anthropomorphic animal people like a bearded rhino, or a lute-playing sloth.

Delta Force is a series of military FPS shooters which began all the way back in 1998 and came to PlayStation with PS1's Urban Warfare (the fifth game in the franchise). Creator NovaLogic shuttered back in 2016, and its assets were acquired by THQ Nordic, which in turn, was swallowed by a bigger fish, the Embracer Group. Now, a pre-Gamescom teaser has revealed the series will live again and is set to be fully revealed at Gamescom's Opening Night Live.

Announced back in 2021, it feels like we've been waiting on edgy Soulslike Lies of P forever, but we're in the homestretch now. The gritty take on the classic tale of Pinnochio will finally release on PS5 and PS4 on 19th September, and we got a cinematic trailer to tide us over in the meantime.

Looking like the child born of a lucrative union between Fall Guys and Fortnite, the imaginatively named Stumble Guys has been announced for PS5 and PS4. Stumble Guys is a free-to-play Battle Royale that smashes together an impressive number of genres in a fairly consistent fashion, and it does look like a good bit of fun.

Retrieval is being billed as a cinematic horror action-adventure game that follows Hana Loshe, the commander of a research team some 18 billion miles away from Earth, who uncovers the horrors living just beneath the surface. Don't expect this one to launch anytime soon, but it's been announced for PS5.

Strategy RPG Lost Eidolons puts us in mind of a grittier Fire Emblem, eschewing the colour but none of the tactics. It's out today on PS5, and we got a trailer looking at some of the exciting set-piece battles that await.

Mandragora is a 2.5D sidescrolling action RPG set in a dark fantasy world, featuring a painterly art style and a stamina-based combat system. It dodge-rolls its way onto PS5 in 2024.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is the latest game from developer FromSoftware, and we got our best look yet in an expansive overview trailer, and not a moment too soon. Armored Core VI is out today, 25th August, on PS5 and PS4.

It's a mouthful, but Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin is looking like a solid real-time strategy game for PS5 players, and it takes the field on 17th November. We got a new trailer and a better look at gameplay, with Realms of Ruin being developed in tandem for both PC and console.

Axolotls were already some of nature's deadliest predators, but when armed with the most popular gun in the world, they become paedomorphic salamanders truly worth fearing. Such is the pitch for the excellent-looking AK-xolotl, a top-down roguelike shooter starring a cold-blooded, preemptively overprotective parent. Get ready to rock on PS5 and PS4 on 14th September.

Dustborn is a single-player story-driven action adventure game developed by Read Thread Games and published by Quantic Dream. It was first revealed back in 2020 and is now targeting a release in early 2024, and we got a new trailer at Gamescom's Opening Night Live.
