One of the defining features of the survival-crafting game Palworld is the fact that the busywork can be offloaded to the eponymous Pals — and Anubis, in particular, has great stats for this.

When exploring the difficult world of Palworld, the entire region is yours to visit. You have the opportunity to explore this massive region with your Pals, building bases and harvesting a variety of resources, but is there a larger story at work?
Although the primary missions you receive at the beginning of the game provide a small thread of guidance, there’s a lot more happening. This is where the Castaway Journals come in. These journals provide a small amount of details of Palworld, and the type of environment you find yourself in with your Pals. It’s not a huge story, but there could be something there with these journal entries. Here’s what you need to know about if Palworld has a story, and what’s the deal with those Castaway Journals.

From what I can tell, the Castaway Journals are the story linking together in Palworld and serve as a backdrop to the overall setting. However, from my experience, it’s an open-ended game where you can do nearly anything you want and explore wherever you want to go; it’s up to you to find these Castaway Journals or to happily play the game.
I’ve only been able to locate one of the Castaway Journals, but they appear to be along the pathway leading you forward in Palworld. Some of them are easier to find than others. For those who want to read them, open up your menu while playing Palworld, and then click the “memo” options. This will list out every Castaway Journal, and show you how many you have left to collect them all. Each comes with a unique image and description of the story, detailing an adventure of someone else also exploring the world for the first time. It’ll be much easier for you when you track down the glider.
There’s no larger push to find these Castaway Journals, at least, not from the overall game. I feel like the developers want to provide them as lore for players who are interested in seeking them out, but a majority of this game is primarily catching Pals, trying to find shiny ones, and building bases throughout the world. Creating multiple worlds is likely encouraged because you can readjust the settings like the day and night cycle, and the Castaway Journals in Palworld are in the same spots.
Because Palworld is in early access, it’s possible more Castaway Journals will be added to the main game as the developers work further on the story. Hopefully, these details and a stronger narrative are woven into the experience for players hungry to learn more.

A new preview for Dragon's Dogma 2 reveals that it will only let players make one save at a time, just like the original. Not only will this lock you into one playthrough at once, but the save file will also be overwritten by autosaves, so you won't be able to make multiple backups in case you want to change your strategy.
Reviving Pals in is a necessary step in case you want to continue using your captured companions. Despite the constant comparisons between the game and the franchise, this is a survival title and, unlike Nintendo’s classic series, there is no specific item that automatically restores a fallen creature’s HP and has them ready on the go. You will have to follow a very thorough and somewhat unexplained set of steps to revive your Pals.
With having as large of a map as it does, it is important to know what mounts are fastest for travel. Other ways of moving across the map besides mounts would be by foot, grappling gun, and gliding, but each has drawbacks or niche situations where mounts are the better option. Players running and gliding lose stamina too fast to be efficient, whereas the grappling gun is best for climbing peaks too steep to walk up.
Electric Organs are an essential material in for crafting and supplying electricity to your base. Unfortunately, these items can be a hassle to obtain early-game because they require players to search for Electric Pals to hunt. You can either capture or defeat targets to obtain Electric Organs. This is especially great for those who do not want to eliminate a bunch of cute Electric Pals in the process. There is one other method to obtain Electric Organs, but this comes at a price.

From the beginning of the game, Technology Points in are used for basic survival needs in its monster-hunter survival arc. They are a source of progression alongside your level, which helps with certain buildings and catching materials. Depending on the time and place of the game, these Technology Points can be very useful. Regardless, obtaining them quickly is very important to get stronger.
Making progress in can be engaging, but it's not possible to advance characters or Pals forever, as a level cap will eventually be reached after enough play. Since takes obvious inspiration from both and survival crafting games like and, the inclusion of a finite leveling system isn't especially surprising. There's a big difference between a level cap of 25 and 250, however, so it can be useful to know which end of the spectrum ultimately falls closer to, in order to have a good understanding of progression.
Breeding strong Pals is an essential part of being a great Pal Tamer in the new game . Once your base is built and the basic survival accommodations are made, thinking about what will help you next can lead to breeding Pals. Tamers can breed for different elemental types, helpful traits, or even new Pals completely to discover different species. With a little care, cake, and connection, your Pals will be «popping out eggs» in no time.
One of the biggest parts of the experience is building and upgrading your home base, and one particularly crucial level upgrade requires Pal Fluid. Unlike common resources such as Stone and Wood, which can be found almost anywhere, Pal Fluid is a rare resource that only drops from certain Pals out in the wild.
Sulphur is an essential ingredient for crafting Gunpowder in , and you will need a steady supply of this rare resource to craft ammo for your guns. Luckily, even though it’s much rarer than Paldium Fragments or Ore, you can find abundant sources of Sulphur in the mid to late-game. However, you will need to prepare for some danger.
