Deadpool’s new series has big TV sitcom vibes — plus murder, of course

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is set to introduce a bunch of new characters to the long-running franchise, from Owen Teague's primate protagonist Noa to Freya Allan's human Mae. It'll also welcome a new villain, too: Kevin Durand's Proximus Caesar.

Deadpool is gearing up for his MCU debut, and the latest look at the threequel gave us more of what we really want: Wolverine. Nine minutes of Deadpool & Wolverine was shown during Disney’s CinemaCon 2024 presentation on Thursday, which also included the first trailer for Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World (slick, small-ish spy movie) and an update on Thunderbolts*, which now has an asterisks in the title. But on to Deadpool 3.

When Homeworld 3 was first announced, I kept hoping for a VR mode announcement that never came. Wouldn’t it be great to see all of the iconic ships flying around, dogfighting and exploding all around your head? It’s a no-brainer! It turns out that the lack of VR support wasn’t because Homeworld 3’s developers at Blackbird didn’t see the potential; it was because there was another studio, FarBridge, working on a parallel Homeworld game that’s built for VR – specifically the Meta Quest 2 and 3 – from the ground up. It’s called Homeworld: Vast Reaches (see what they did there?) and, as coincidence would have it, after Homeworld 3’s delay to this coming May, both will launch very close together.

Despite the controversy surrounding Tekken 8’s recent addition of the cash shop and Battle Pass, Bandai Namco’s sequel has done well. Before its launch, producer Katsuhiro Harada revealed that the series had sold over 55 million copies on the Game Maker’s Notebook Podcast.

Former Dragon Age director Mike Laidlaw is making a new fantasy game. Eternal Strands is third-person adventure pitched as a mixture of Shadow Of The Colossus and Monster Hunter with Tears Of The Kingdom's physics powers. The trailer, which you'll find below, certainly has giants you can clamber across and spray with goop.

Yellow Bricks Games has just revealed the first trailer for the upcoming Eternal Strands, and the game has strong Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom vibes. Created by former BioWare and Ubisoft employees, the game is an action adventure with influences from the latest Zelda, Monster Hunter, and Shadow of the Colossus.

The next title in the Mana series from Square Enix, Visions of Mana, is out this Summer. As the first mainline title in over 15 years, it offers vibrant visuals, a real-time combat system with new mechanics, and over 100 tracks. Various previews and details are available, including a new gameplay trailer, but the publisher also revealed sales numbers for the series.

Dredge, the sinister fishing game from Black Salt Games and publisher Team 17, has donated $100,000 New Zealand dollars to the New Zealand Whale and Dolphin Trust as it celebrates its first anniversary and teases that there's more to come for the wonderful indie horror game.
