The former Striking Distance CEO has been busy lately.

Dead Space The Callisto Protocol creator Glen Schofield is hard at work on something new, as after enjoying some rest, the game developer posted an update on X/Twitter regarding his next project and plans to share details on it in the new year.
Although I’ve taken some time off, I’ve been extremely busy & not just drawing. Something in games that’s new and exciting. Can’t wait to share more after the New Year!
Schofield's last project was The Callisto Protocol, a return to sci-fi horror that received poor critical reception upon release. Developed at Striking Distance--where Schofield served as co-founder and CEO of the studio--the game did receive several substantial updates after release, but parent company Krafton still proceeded to lay off more than 30 staff members back in August. Schofield also left the studio, but in a statement, he confirmed that his exit had been planned for a while so that the new CEO, Steve Papoutsis, would have as smooth a transition as possible.
«Creating Striking Distance Studios has been an incredible journey and I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved with The Callisto Protocol, a game close to my heart. While pursuing a new adventure is exciting, leaving SDS is bittersweet, but I know the studio is in excellent hands,» Schofield said at the time.
Schofield isn't the only high-profile game developer to part ways with a studio that he co-founded, as Hideki Kamiya exited Platinum Games earlier this year. Contractual obligations have put Kamiya on a one-year hiatus from developing video games, but the veteran designer says that he has a «clear idea» in mind for his next project when he eventually returns to the industry. If he can find support and funding, his next game will be one that only he can make.

Teyon’s RoboCop: Rogue City launched last year to significant praise from fans and critics, becoming publisher Nacon’s biggest launch yet. While it received an update to fix various crashes and localization issues, players have requested a feature missing from the current game – New Game Plus.
Coming in at number eight is Dead Space. This full PS5 remake kicked off 2023 with its January release, and honestly, we haven't stopped thinking about it since. With The Callisto Protocol launching just a month prior and sharing a lot of the same DNA, EA Motive wiped our memory of Johnny Protocol as it thrust us into a dark, terrifying, yet wildly enchanting world.
If you watched The Game Awards at the start of December (and, lord knows, many of us did), you’d be forgiven for thinking that there was only one stellar horror remake this year: Resident Evil 4.
Former BioWare writer and project lead Mac Walters recently gave some insights on the new game from Worlds Untold. While details are scarce, we know it'll be a sci-fi action-adventure game, and not at all an RPG like Mass Effect. During an interview with the MinnMax gaming podcast, the studio head of Worlds Untold talked about his career at BioWare and what's next for him at his new venture. According to him, this next project will be a mix of elements from Mass Effect and, surprisingly, Apple TV's grounded sci-fi show Severance.

We gave everyone a gentle nudge at the start of December to remind them that the clock on the Bluetooth upgrade option for the Stadia controller was ticking down: Google had given Stadia owners until the end of 2023 to convert their controllers to wireless functionality, or be stuck with wires forever. But someone, somewhere, decided the deadline was too tight, because now that deadline has been pushed to the end of 2024.
