Daybreak confirms "less than 15" layoffs

Ubisoft’s second $70 game, Skull and Bones, has seen its price reduced significantly less than three weeks after its release.

After 2023’s onslaught of great games and 2024’s strong start, I’m not sure how anyone has room left in their backlog. But if you’re open to welcoming more discs into your life, you may want to pay attention to the sale on pre-owned games happening now at GameStop.

PlayStation recently announced that it will be reducing its workforce by roughly 8 percent, which translates to around 900 layoffs, and given that number, it’s no surprise that the effects are going to be felt across the company. A number of major first-party studios are set to make job cuts, Firepsrite’s rumoured Twisted Metal game has been cancelled (alongside reports of workplace toxicity within the studio), while SIE London Studio has been shut down entirely.

While Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League falls short of WB Games’ expectations, Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones isn’t doing much better. Sources speaking to Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson report that it had around 850,000 players.
