The prequel mod Dark Souls Archthrones can finally be tested by fans thanks to a newly released demo. The makers of the mod originally targeted September 2023 for the demo launch, but delays are part of game development and even more so when we're talking about non-professional projects like a mod. Now, however, the demo is here, and it should be a great way for Soulslike fans to tide over
You'll have to own Dark Souls III on Steam to try it. Dark Souls Archthrones supports both Windows and Linux (such as Steam Deck).
According to the modding team, this is a retelling of the Dark Souls universe and a comprehensive total conversion mod for Dark Souls 3 that comes with its own lore influenced by the deepest secrets of the Dark Souls mythos. Moreover, the modders were inspired by the other masterpieces released by FromSoftware: Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Elden Ring.
Of course, this is just a demo, and there's no word on the launch date of the full version yet.
Here's the full feature set of the Dark Souls Archthrones demo as outlined on the Nexus Mods page.

There's great news for gamers interested in playing Dragon's Dogma 2 without having a beefy PC: NVIDIA has just announced that CAPCOM's open world game will be available at launch via its GeForce NOW cloud platform. Despite the fact that the previous installment is supported on GeForce NOW, the same was far from a given for the sequel. While the Japanese publisher has agreed to add games like Exoprimal, Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7, and Devil May Cry 5 to GFN, Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 are still nowhere to be seen, and the same goes for Street Fighter 6.
Today, Remedy released its latest quarterly report for the period between October and December 2023. Despite the successful launch of Alan Wake 2, which was the fastest-selling game ever made by the studio even launching in a highly competitive release window, Q4 2023 marked a decrease in both revenue and profitability compared to 2022 due to significantly increased investments in the other game projects and to the impairment charge cost (€ -7.2 million) related to the reboot of the free-to-play Project Vanguard, from now on known as Kestrel.
As anticipated earlier this month, the PC version of The Last of Us Part I has been updated to version 1.1.3 to add support for AMD FSR 3 Super Resolution and Frame Generation.

Given the recent passing of the legendary artist, the game slated to launch in five weeks will be all the more special.
During today's GTC 2024 keynote, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang showed a new AI NPC demo called Covert Protocol. Unlike the Kairos demo demonstrated at CES 2024, which was based on Convai technology, this one is powered by Inworld AI, the other major AI NPC platform geared towards game development. As you may recall, Inworld AI was first added by modder 'Bloc' in games like Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and Grand Theft Auto V, though Rockstar quickly took that down to the dismay of the creator.
