Dark Souls 2 PS3 and Xbox 360 servers are shutting down in March 2024

Fntastic promptly announced they were shutting their doors, and Steam delisted the game and begun offering refunds to those that asked.

FromSoftware has announced that it will be switching off the online servers for Dark Souls 2. This will affect the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game, meaning that all online play for Dark Souls 2 will cease on those platforms. The date of the server shutdown has been confirmed as March 31st, 2024.

Dark Souls 2 was initially released in March 2014 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. While the game might be the worst in the series, according to many fans, it’s not without its charm. Today, developer FromSoftware shared the news that after a decade, those original servers would be shut down.

Online servers for Dark Souls 2 will be shut down in March, for anyone still playing on either PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.

The Day Before, once Steam’s most wishlisted game before experiencing a bizarre journey through multiple delays, accusations of being a scam, apparent legal disputes and a catastrophic Early Access launch, will shut down its servers in one month. The effective end to the game will accompany refunds for anyone who brought it on Steam.
