Once a planned, private resort getaway for Night City's well-to-do luminaries, Dogtown soon fell under the control of Kurt Hansen and his iron-fisted Barghest paramilitary gang. By the time V arrives, high rises and luxury shops are in total disarray, and anyone who isn't part of Barghest's rank and file is forced to live in fear. Their hidden stashes and abandoned apartments make up some of the DLC's most fascinating areas.

And, as Iconic weapons tend to have effects that can't be replicated by any other piece of gear, missing them may deprive a playthrough of unique gameplay.

The side quest "" forces players to decide the fate of a former SovOil agent named Katya. The quest begins with Ana and Steven, two members of a Brazilian intelligence agency, hiring V to find their missing friend and former collaborator, one Mark Bana. However, the agents warn that it might not actually be Bana behind the signals. V tracks Bana through Organitopia, a natural history museum taken over by technological scavengers, and at the end of it all, finds Katya.

In fact, some options can even lock players out of s true new ending, and one of these factors includes deciding to kill Solomon Reed or agreeing to his deal. This occurs extremely late in the game, but it will have a major impact on the ending, so knowing which choice is correct is important.

Guns may be a big focus of , but the DLC is a great reminder that melee weapons can also be an excellent choice in the game. With the right skills and upgrades, getting up close and personal with enemies is a highly viable strategy for any type of infiltration or battle. Not only do melee weapons provide plenty of fun in the way of gameplay, but they can also stand out by making for some especially visceral violence compared to the relatively straightforward trajectory of a bullet.

Dogtown residents Jacob and Taylor may talk tough, but whether they deserve the maximum punishment for their actions is ultimately up to the player to decide.
