Colossal PS Store Sale Plunges the Price of Over 1,000 PS5, PS4 Essentials | Push Square

Reports from some familiar faces suggest that Sony still has some «smaller» PS5 exclusives set for the tail end of 2024. Insiders and various industry types agree that they'll likely be seen at next month's rumoured PlayStation event. The consensus seems to be that the long-awaited Silent Hill 2 remake will be one, and the rumoured standalone Astro Bot game will be another.

The PS5 remake of Silent Hill 2 has taken one step closer to its reported 2024 release as the ESRB has handed the title a Mature age rating. Generally awarded near the completion of a game's development, the USA firm warns of blood and gore, language, sexual themes, and violence throughout the experience from Bloober Team. A trailer published by Sony at the start of 2024 pegged Silent Hill 2 with a 2024 release window, and this new update could signal that's still on the cards.

The monthly PS Plus Essential update has arrived, granting all members of Sony's subscription service access to three new PS5, PS4 titles. Young Horses, the studio behind the PS5 launch title Bugsnax, has announced it's turning the indie hit into a card game. The developer requires $15,000 of funding on Kickstarter to make it a reality, with orders currently being accepted from the USA. The team plans to begin shipping the card game in October 2024 for those supporting the campaign, and then international orders will be accepted roughly one month later.

There's been a lot of chatter about this Stellar Blade demo recently. First, it was released accidentally, and although Sony took it back down pretty quickly, it wasn't fast enough to stop a few people playing and sharing footage online. So, we knew a demo was coming, and it wasn't much later that we got official confirmation. Now, the time has come: it's available to download and play right now on PS5. A US judge has ruled that Sony did not infringe on another company's patented technology with its PlayStation hardware, specifically in regard to how consoles and controllers communicate.

Close to a colossal 4,000 PS5 and PS4 games are on sale in Sony’s epic Spring Sale, which is rolling out at the time of writing and scheduled to run through 24th April. A second phase of deals will be added to the current crop on 10th April, potentially making this one of the biggest PS Store promotions in history.
