A modder is beautifying Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite with cel-shaded visuals

Crossover fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite first sauntered onto various videogaming mechanisms back in 2017. We forgot to review it. Oops. But others did, sometimes complaining about the art style, which was a chunky and plastic-looking departure from previous games in the series. It's now almost seven years later but at least one person has not forgotten this missed opportunity. A fighting game modder has been tinkering with shaders to bring the comic book style of previous games to Infinite. Looks cool.

Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite Is Getting A New Fan-Made Art Style

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite had more than a few problems when it launched back in 2017. It was fun enough to play, but it has a less than stellar story, it was updated with DRM years after launch, and it's missing popular characters such as the X-Men. However, the biggest problem that faces the title is how badly it's aging, as despite only being seven years old, it's art style and graphics leave an awful lot to be desired.

Popular Twitch Streamer Plans to Revitalize Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite With New Cel-Shaded Art Style

Prior to Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite’s release in the fall of 2017, the crossover fighting game faced an uphill battle with newbies and longtime fans alike because of its abrasively shiny and underlit art style. Now, seven years later, a popular fighting game Twitch streamer announced he is working on a fan project that will give the game a facelift and, hopefully, encourage players who passed on it to give it a second chance.

3 Capcom Games Are Being Delisted on May 8

Capcom is delisting three of its games from Steam on Wednesday, May 8. An unfortunate reality in the move away from physical media to an all-digital future is that games occasionally get delisted, making them impossible to purchase from that point on. Many companies have delisted their games from various digital storefronts over the years for a variety of reasons, and that includes Japanese gaming giant Capcom.
