3 Capcom Games Are Being Delisted on May 8

Capcom is delisting three of its games from Steam on Wednesday, May 8. An unfortunate reality in the move away from physical media to an all-digital future is that games occasionally get delisted, making them impossible to purchase from that point on. Many companies have delisted their games from various digital storefronts over the years for a variety of reasons, and that includes Japanese gaming giant Capcom.
While Capcom delistings don't seem to happen as often as other studios, mainly because its games are mostly single-player affairs that have no server or licensing issues to take into account, there are still times when the company's titles are pulled from sale. This happened back in March when Capcom-published game Age of Booty was removed from the Xbox marketplace. Those that already own the game are still able to re-download it, but it's no longer available to purchase.
So will be the case for Dark Void, Dark Void Zero, and Flock when they are removed from Steam on May 8. All three of these Capcom games are being removed at 5:30pm PT on that day, so anyone interested in picking them up has time to do so. Luckily, they're all available at a discounted price ahead of the delisting, with Dark Void selling for $4.99, and both Dark Void Zero and Flock selling for $3.04.
Capcom has not provided a reason why these three games are being delisted from Steam, but fans theorize that it has something to do with the DRM they use. Notably, the Xbox backward compatible version of Dark Void doesn't appear to be getting delisted, perhaps because it doesn't use the DRM that the Steam version does. Whatever the case may be, Steam users are running out of time to add these three Capcom games to their collection, and so they should consider doing so while they still can.
Unfortunately, Capcom doesn't keep a running list of games that it's delisting, and so fans don't always have all that much in the way of advance notice. This is in contrast to how some other companies handle the delisting of their games, like EA, for instance. EA keeps a list of games it's going to be delisting in the near future, as well as all its titles that have already been delisted, giving gamers plenty of opportunity to revisit titles before they're shut down or pulled from sale. It would be nice for Capcom to adopt a similar approach, but since its games are rarely ever delisted or shutdown, it may not be a top priority for the company.

The Pedestrian I normally don't have the patience (or mental ability) for puzzle games as I tend to give up when frustrated but I've been enjoying this one, albeit in small sessions. I like the way it doesn't really explain anything but still remains quite simple to grasp the new mechanics introduced in different areas. I also like how solving fairly simple puzzles makes me feel like a genius! Its quite a pleasant change of pace for me at the moment.
