Capcom Making Resident Evil 0, Code Veronica Remakes Next, Reports Say | Push Square

From remakes of Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica to the next mainline entry in the franchise, the Resident Evil series seemingly has a number of major projects currently in the works, if leaks are to be believed, and it seems a re-release of the original entry in the series might also be in the pipeline.

A rating for the PC version of the original Resident Evil has sparked speculation Capcom may be about to release the classic horror game on Steam.

A PC port of The Last of Us 2 Remastered seems to very much be a foregone conclusion at this point, but a new report from insider Billbil-Kun suggests it's so inevitable that Sony has actually already done the work and is now sitting on the new version. The former PS Plus leaker suggests development of the PC port was completed as far back as November 2023, over six months ago.

Konami has revealed the first in-depth look at gameplay in the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake, titled on PS5 as Delta: Snake Eater. It includes shots of the Virtuous Mission as well as further into the game, showcasing stealth action as well as gunplay. Check it out above.

The original Halo: Combat Evolved has already been remastered once before for Xbox 360, but according to The Verge, Microsoft is giving the classic FPS another facelift, and it's considering putting it on PS5. The project is said to be in the early stages of development, and the Xbox Series X|S maker is contemplating whether to include it in the firm's Project Latitude, the internal name for Microsoft's multi-platform efforts.

While rumors abound regarding remakes of Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica, Capcom has announced updated sales numbers for Resident Evil Village. It’s sold over ten million copies since its launch, becoming the fastest title in the franchise to achieve the same.

Activision has today posted the first piece of promotional material for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, in the form of a black and white live-action trailer. More of a mood piece than anything else really, the big news here is Microsoft has indeed committed to releasing the game on Xbox Game Pass straight away now it owns Activision. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on the membership service day one and full price on PS5, PS4.

Neil Druckmann, the co-studio head of The Last of Us, Uncharted creator Naughty Dog, has pushed back on comments he supposedly made in a recent Sony interview released alongside this week's Corporate Strategy Meeting. Druckmann is quoted as saying the developer's next first-party title could «redefine mainstream perceptions of gaming», but he says on Twitter he never actually said that. Like, at all.

Ubisoft has confirmed it will be introducing a new paid subscription service for its popular tactical shooter Rainbow Six: Siege. Very similar to the Fortnite Crew membership offered by Epic Games, signing up grants you access to exclusive bonus items on a monthly basis as well as the seasonal Battle Passes and some premium currency.

Polychroma Games has announced its Philippines-inspired PS5 story game Until Then will launch next month on 25th June 2024. Releasing slap bang between Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree and Final Fantasy XIV DLC Dawntrail, the experience offers something different in the aftermath of a worldwide tragedy. It's not new, but you can watch a trailer above for a more visual introduction. It'll cost $19.99.
