City Connection has released the reveal trailer for the newly announced RUSHING BEAT X: Return of Brawl Brothers, as well as confirmed a 2024 release window. Platforms were not announced.

The Bomberman games, in one guise or another, have been around since the early 1980’s, and the fact that the series is still popular is indicative of how compelling the arcade gameplay is. Navigate a maze, drop a bomb, blow up a friend to much hilarity; repeated over dozens of iterations. Considering how well-practiced the gameplay formula is, it’s absolutely jaw-dropping that Super Bomberman R 2 plays a pretty lousy game of Bomberman.

City Connection, in cooperation with Freemode, has announced Rushing Beat X: Return of Brawl Brothers. A full reveal is set for the opening day of Tokyo Game Show 2023, which will run from September 21 to 24 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, the colourful and cool spiritual successor to Jet Set Radio, was released digitally on PS5 and PS4 at the start of the month. The title is getting a couple of gorgeous physical editions that may interest collectors, with developer Team Reptile, distribution partner Skybound Games, and iam8bit together announcing the collaboration.

Mortal Kombat 1 just launched for players with a premium edition of the game, and it's going down well so far. Reviews are mostly positive, with our own George Foster giving it 4/5. However, that doesn't mean every aspect of the game is being warmly received, with some complaining that the latest instalment feels a little rough around the edges.

iam8bit and distribution partner Skybound Games, together with developer Team Reptile, have announced physical editions of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series / One, and Switch. Pre-orders will open on September 15.

Yesterday, Unity Technologies announced a major change in plan pricing for users of its popular engine. Starting January 1st, 2024, a so-called Runtime Fee based on installs will be required for all games with Unity that cross certain revenue and installation thresholds as outlined in the table below.

EA has now confirmed that The Sims 5, or Project Rene, will be free to play, and while it will still sell content packs, the game could also launch with features traditionally locked behind Sims DLC.
