Bloober Team to develop new game based on Skybound Entertainment IP

The Silent Hill 2 remake is likely content complete and in its polishing phase, as developer Bloober Team is shifting its focus on other projects.

Every month brings new games to the Xbox Game Pass service, with the regularly changing roster in Microsoft's subscription offering plenty of titles for different types of players to enjoy. These can be titles from acclaimed long-running franchises, and sometimes titles from Microsoft's first-party studios are added for no additional cost upon their launch, making Game Pass one of the better deals in gaming.

Xbox Game Pass is going to add plenty of new games to its library in 2024, expanding the variety of choices available to anyone who subscribes to the service. Although it's impossible to say what the full scope of changes to the library will be in the coming year, a number of planned titles have already been revealed. Among these options, a select number stand out as the most exciting additions to the service.

The Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 could finally feature new designs, along with a chipset upgrade, assuming the latest report is to be believed. With these upgrades, Microsoft is not just reported to give both machines a chassis makeover but also a much-needed specifications bumps. With Qualcomm having unveiled its Snapdragon X Elite, it is not difficult to imagine that the software giant will likely use this silicon to fuel the innards of at least one of these models.

Polish games firm Bloober Team is partnering with entertainment firm Skybound on an as yet undisclosed project.

The folks over at Bloober Team are throwing together a new title, but this time, the franchise is through one of the IPs by Skybound Entertainment. It’s been unveiled that the development studio has partnered up with Skybound Entertainment for this next big game release. However, that’s about all we know right now about the game. With Bloober Team known for delivering horror gameplay experiences, it would be hard to see the studio partnered up with an IP not centered around a horror storyline.

Bloober Team — the Polish game development studio best known for its work on horror games like Layers of Fear, The Medium, and even the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake, has confirmed that it has another new project in the works. 

The Medium and Layers of Fear developer Bloober Team has announced a license and publishing agreement with Skybound Entertainment. It will develop a new title, codenamed R based on Skybound’s IP, with plans to launch in 2025.

Along with announcing 13 million players for Starfield to date, Bethesda Game Studios revealed its post-launch plans for the title heading into 2024. It already confirmed “all-new ways” to travel and city maps, and starting in February, it will target updates roughly every six weeks. They will add new features and content with quality-of-life improvements.
