Baldur's Gate 3 turns into The Witcher 3 with two great camera mods

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has risen from the depths of development hell, two years after Paradox Interactive parted ways with the game's former developer, Hardsuit Labs, and delayed the game indefinitely. The publisher has since recruited Dear Estherand Everybody’s Gone to the Rapturestudio The Chinese Room to work on the sequel to the original RPG from 2004. Bloodlines 2 is now set to arrive in fall 2024.

At long last, Baldur's Gate 3 is on console. The early access period on PS5 had just started, giving anyone with the Digital Deluxe Edition the chance to play a few days before its full launch. Unsurprisingly given all the hype, many fans were counting down the seconds until they could play, only for some to be met with disappointment.

Baldur's Gate 3 is the gift that keeps on giving. Even aside from already-released and upcoming patches that are doing things like giving Karlach a new epilogue and restoring 1,500 lines of missing Minthara dialogue, there are still plenty of little secrets, references and easter eggs tucked away that people are still uncovering. The latest? The tattoos you can select as body art during character creation.

Choices are hard, especially when you’re creating your ideal character in a massive RPG with hundreds of customization options based on long-running Dungeons and Dragons traditions. Even though you’ve finally settled on your race and appearance in Baldur’s Gate 3, giving your half-orc beefcake just the right amount of facepaint, you’ve still got to pick your class and eventually your subclass… and there are so many options!

The beauty of Dungeons & Dragons lies in its immersive role-playing structure that bestows upon you the role of an author, but you never truly know where the story is headed. It's quite humane in that sense, where no matter how well-prepared you are, fate's inevitable gnarly fingers might have different ideas for us. Larian Studios' latest Baldur's Gate III explores the Forgotten Realms, a dark fantastical corner of D&D that's brimming with devils, deities, and the supernatural. A highly dynamic world that reacts to the digits on a polyhedral dice to weave an emotional tale about a group of broken people, gambling their lives against sinister forces that ooze Lovecraftian vibes. On the other hand, you can take a backseat and watch it all fade to misery, as you scroll through Astarion fan art and look up the quickest ways to romance bears in-game.

Baldur's Gate 3 has an easy-to-miss setting that lets you change the color of your skill check d20, but the official options are pretty limited. I've been rocking «Behir Blue» for about 140 hours or so, and I'm ready for a change.

There are an awful lot of spells in D&D, and while Baldur's Gate 3 features less than half of them, several of the big hitters are present; Tasha's Hideous Laughter, Otto's Irresistible Dance, or true classics like Fireball and Healing Word. But when a boss fight meant that all of those spells failed me, I had to turn to a true icon: Magic Missile.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has proven to be a playground for players, with its freeform approach to gameplay and clever use of D&D rules allowing players to do all kinds of unique builds and approaches to the game. For one player, that’s involved making a monk capable of blasting their way through enemies with ease, thanks to their incredible damage output.
