Lone wolf destroys Baldur's Gate 3's toughest boss in two turns with nothing but a bow, a bag of busted magic items, and D&D's least flashy class

Donald Mustard – the man behind Fortnite and outgoing chief creative officer at Epic Games – is retiring after 25 years in the industry.

The fine folks over at Noclip are currently undertaking a huge restoration project, digitising hours and hours of gaming-related footage from a forgotten archive of tapes. If you hit up the YouTube channel, where all of this stuff is free to watch, you'll see old video game trailers, footage of cancelled projects, and old E3 press conferences. Sony's memorable E3 2006 presser has already been restored, and now, its presentation from E3 2010 is now available to watch in the best quality possible.

Baldur's Gate 3 is now available on PC and PlayStation 5, and an Xbox version is on the way too. And while you can't currently play with your pals on other platforms, Larian director of publishing Michael Douse told Eurogamer that someday, you will.

Previously planned for October 25, the release date for the Alone in the Dark reboot has been delayed. THQ Nordic decided to avoid the October rush of games, changing the date to January 16, 2024 to give it some breathing room. As the publisher put it, they’re hoping to “remain as Alone in the Dark as possible.” 

At long last, Baldur's Gate 3 is on console. The early access period on PS5 had just started, giving anyone with the Digital Deluxe Edition the chance to play a few days before its full launch. Unsurprisingly given all the hype, many fans were counting down the seconds until they could play, only for some to be met with disappointment.

Choices are hard, especially when you’re creating your ideal character in a massive RPG with hundreds of customization options based on long-running Dungeons and Dragons traditions. With several fans finishing up their stories, they have some opinions about the epilogue and how the story ends that developers, Larian Studios, have noticed and are making plans for in the future.

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon finally came out today (Friday, August 25) on PC and consoles, and as GamesRadar+ reports, many players have immediately run into difficulty with the very first boss in the game. That fact is proving to be either an absolute treat or extreme annoyance, depending on who you ask.

Baldur’s Gate 3 might get DLC eventually, but you shouldn’t expect it to happen any time soon, according to Larian Studios’ senior product manager, Tom Butler.

But for every goofy quest, I run into a tough encounter that forces me to strategize. This is especially true for boss fights; Larian absolutely loves to pit me against encounters that test my wits — and sometimes my patience. No two boss fights are ever quite the same, thanks to the range of boss enemy types and arenas. But the companions I roll around with also give me different dialogue options for handling the game’s big bads. These boss fights showcase Baldur’s Gate 3’s ethos of creative freedom, even if they’re sometimes a pain. And they’ve made me a better player.

It’s no secret that Baldur’s Gate 3 is overflowing with content. Every corner is filled with a secret side quest that’s pretty easy to miss. After all, platinum-ing the game would take no less than 200 hours. Still, with the excitement of all the new mechanics, characters, and world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and start skipping content.
