's omnipresent narrator may have found their way into the hearts of the game's community, but Larian Studios briefly flirted with bringing in an exceptionally experienced Dungeon Master to dictate the experience. Through players' adventures through the Forgotten Realms, the voice of the narrator, played by veteran actor Amelia Tyler, accompanies every major decision and moment in the story, chronicling every action and choice. While Tyler has earned plenty of praise for her performance, one of the most beloved content creators almost took on the role.
Baldur's Gate 3 Players Want Body Tattoos In Character Creator

When customising Tav or Durge in Baldur's Gate 3, you can add face markings and neck tattoos, but there's nothing for the rest of the body like on many of the characters you meet along the Sword Coast.
"They already have NPC [tattoos]. Body scars as well," Briar_Knight commented on a post calling for Larian Studios to add more options for character customisation. "Lots of people, myself included, want to give Durge a vivisection scar. Scars and tattoos are great. Even if you realistically won't see them most of the time, it's a neat way to give your character a visual story. I can mod them in, but I would rather have native support and not have to mess around with files".
Even the bloody goblins get them and we don't, that's the real reason to butcher their camp.
"People are much more likely to have a body tattoo than a face tattoo and the ability to do this seems to already exist in-game with some NPCs having them so this one is really just a giant '???' to me," P4priqu4 said.
The reason for a lack of body tattoos is likely because your body is covered in armour most of the time, so you wouldn't see them anyway. But given how many nights we spend at camp, vulnerable, and in romantic scenes, fans want to have greater customisation over every aspect of their characters.
"The sex scenes were an example of a time they thought it was worth it to put attention into how the characters look naked," naiadvalkyrie commented. "They were worth a lot of animation time and attention [...] How about penis jiggle physics? Jaheira's age markings while naked?"
As some fans pointed out, there are mods that add tattoos to your Tav and Durge, but most of them are fairly limited, implementing a singular tattoo or, as with the base game, focusing on the face.
You can get a mod called Unique Tav, however, that "adds body tattoos as an option", even upscaling them. However, it hasn't been updated since January 2, earlier this year, and is only available on PC.
Baldur's Gate 3 is the long-awaited next chapter in the Dungeons & Dragons-based series of RPGs. Developed by Divinity creator Larian Studios, it puts you in the middle of a mind flayer invasion of Faerûn, over a century after the events of its predecessor.
