Baldur's Gate 3 is a pretty good RPG, and it quickly became one of 2023's game of the year contenders shortly after release. Like all games though, it's definitely not perfect, and one of its biggest criticisms is how it treats fan favorite character Karlach, particularly during the events of Act 3 and her ending. Thankfully, Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian Studios has already addressed the issue in its latest patch, giving Karlach a new epilogue scene to flesh out her endings a little bit better. Of course, expect heavy spoilers if you read on.
One of the biggest criticisms of Karlach's ending is that it felt a little bit abrupt overall, but this new patch adds some much needed context and more dialogue scenes with Karlach to make things seems a bit more fluid. This patch mostly has to do with the ending that has Karlach decide to travel to Avernus, as you'll now be able to choose whether Karlach travels by themselves, whether you go with them, or whether you go with them alone.

The patch has also added some build up to another ending, as this patch has introduced some new moments between the player and Karlach in which you can talk to them about the state of their engine between acts. There's also a new moment in which Karlach will question whether her engine could potentially burn out after getting her second upgrade, which adds a little more foreshadowing to one of the character's endings to make things feel less abrupt.
If you're not a huge fan of Karlach (how dare you), and are a little disappointed none of the other game's characters are getting as much love, you don't have to fear. Larian has stated that it's currently working on "additional endgame scenes" for many of the game's other characters, so future patches that are brought out could possibly focus on others that have endings that are a little lackluster.
Of course, the patch contains a whole bunch of performance and UI fixes, particularly in Act 3, which has been catching a bit of heat from fans. If you want to see all of the fun little tweaks and fixes, you can check out the entire list of patch notes here.
