has plenty of difficult bosses that the party will end up facing and possibly dying against, especially in Honour Mode. However, bosses aren't the only threats that can end a run when it just takes a single party wipe to get a game over screen. Even normal enemies can be enough to kill Tav and their party, depending on how the battle is approached and how well the attack rolls go.
One big difference that's added in Honour Mode is the threat of permadeath. If the party is wiped out, then the game ends, and the only option is to try again from the beginning or continue in the Normal game mode. Depending on the enemy type and the point when the party encounters them, the adjusted Action Economy in Honour Mode can be enough to turn normal creatures into deadly threats.
When entering the Blighted Village, Tav can be spotted by Goblins on the rooftops. Depending on the dialogue options, this can lead to a battle where the enemies have the advantage of high ground. Theinitial positioning can make it difficult for the party to attack while also making it easier for the Goblins to deal damage. As a result, the party might die to the Goblins here.
The Gnolls can hit hard on their own, but the biggest issue is that they're grouped up in ways that make it tough to fight one or two at a time. It doesn't help that there are hyenas nearby that are on the verge of becoming Gnolls, meaning that they can join in on already busy battles. If the party isn't prepared to deal with a bunch of enemies at once, it's easy to end up dying.
The Gremishka are a punishing group of invisible enemies that are found in the Mountain Pass inside Rosymorn Monastery. Not only are they invisible, they have a magic allergy that makes them tough to fight, especially when Tav has any magic users in their party. Using magic causes the Gremishka to have a reaction, and those reactions can include effects like growing in size and strength or exploding. And the threat of those reactions limits what abilities the party can use against them since even healing will cause a reaction.
If the party uses the Mountain Pass to progress to Act 2, then they'll have to fight a group of Death Shepherds and Ghouls. The Death Shepherds are fairly tanky on their own, but their abilities can resurrect Ghouls and the other Shepherd if it's killed. Also, they hit hard, which overall creates a nightmarish fight for a party in Honour Mode and can pose a difficult threat even in Normal Mode.
Act 2 has plenty of Shadows that the party can encounter while exploring. What makes them particularly dangerous is that they can surprise the party. And characters who are surprised are skipped in the first round of combat, which means that the enemies can deal free damage

Baldur's Gate 3 added a new difficulty post-launch called Honour Mode. You get one save file, meaning you can't reload when you mess up a dice roll and death is permanent. But that's not challenging enough for YouTuber Fracture who beat the game with nothing but True Strike and reactions.
'sstory is intricate and amazing to experience, especially with the options that the player is given to influence the path the party takes. However, with a game as massive as in both scale and vision, not everything that could've been an option makes it into the final version. And that means that there are multiple story opportunities that end up being missed. Given the scale of updates regularly receives, though, some of these could be added in the future, if unlikely.
has no shortage of equipment options for every member of the party to choose from. While some pieces are certainly better than others due to the stats and bonus effects they have, they don't look the same. Since each piece of gear has a unique look, certain combinations of pieces can give the party both power and style.
A Baldur's Gate 3 player has found what might be one of the most frustrating deaths in Honour Mode, as Gale's dead body brings their run to an end. Withers gets some of the blame too, as he inadvertently kills the player while trying to resurrect a fallen Gale.
