Ubisoft has just announced that Assassin’s Creed: Mirage will arrive on the Apple App Store on June 6. Coming to the latest generation of iPhones and iPads, the release of Assassin’s Creed: Mirage for iOSmarks the first time that fans will be able to play through one of the franchise's major console titles on a mobile device.
First announced at Apple's Wonderlust event in September 2023, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage will be the latest AAA game to be released on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, joining titles such as Resident Evil Village, the Resident Evil 4 remake, and Death Stranding. These ports of modern, high-end console games mark the next generation of mobile gaming, made possible by the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max’s powerful A17 Pro chip and six cores, which enable native hardware-based ray tracing. While some of the other AAA tiles were available upon the iPhone 15’s launch, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage was delayed until this year.
Ubisoft has just announced that Mirage will finally launch on the App Store for «iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad Air and iPad Pro with M1 chip or later” on June 6, eight months after the game’s release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Set in 9th Century Baghdad, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage returned the series to its roots with stealth and parkour-oriented gameplay. The iOS version of the game will feature cross-saves and cross-progression, as well as controller support, allowing Apple enthusiasts to pick up and play across their many devices. Fans can preorder the game on the App Store for $49.99, and Ubisoft has already confirmed it will feature multiple in-game cosmetic purchases. However, the developers have also recently revealed that Assassin’s Creed: Mirage will not be getting any future DLC.
While the iPhone 15 port of Assassin’s Creed: Mirage marks a landmark for the franchise by bridging the gap between mobile and console gaming, it is hardly the first Assassin’s Creed title for mobile. Ubisoft has released a number of both 3D and side-scrolling spin-offs over the years. Assassin’s Creed: Jade, the latest of these mobile-only adventures, is currently under development and set to be released on both iOS and Android devices. Based in ancient China and featuring a fully customizable protagonist, Assassin’s Creed Jade promises more of the series’ classic parkour action, with the trailer teasing free-running on the Great Wall of China. However, as mobile phone technology becomes more powerful and cloud gaming more accessible, mobile-only entries may become less prevalent if studios instead have a feasible option of porting console releases of their games.
Between Mirage and Jade, mobile-gaming fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise have lots to look forward to.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is coming out on 15th November 2024, it’s been leaked by the descriptions on Ubisoft’s YouTube pages for the reveal trailer.
A while back Ubisoft revealed about a billion Assassin's Creed projects. The first of these to leap into the carefully placed haystack of release was Mirage, which I liked. Up next, it seems, is the artist formally known as Assassin's Creed: Codename Red. All we knew about red was that it would be set in feudal Japan, something fans have been clamouring for for literal years. Now we know that it's an AC game set in feudal Japan called Assassin's Creed Shadows, and it's getting an "official cinematic world premiere trailer" debut on YouTube tomorrow, at 5pm BST.
Update: Whoops! It looks like one of Ubisoft's channels accidentally leaked the Assassin's Creed Shadows release date before the official reveal -- November 15, 2024.
