The first Pokemon games appeared in 1996, and the franchise has seen massive success since then. With over 120 games released so far, Pokemon is one of the largest gaming franchises. The brand is widely successful even outside of gaming, though, due to having an official TV show, a trading card game, a collection of apparel, plushes, and much more. KosukeSukeP has been devising these stylish weapons inspired by Pokemon since at least 2023. In previous collections, the artist designed unique pieces such as an amazing Skarmory-inspired sword and shield that was clearly based on Link’s weapons in the Zelda franchise, for example.
Pokemon fan art is pretty varied, and while this specific artist works by turning Pokemon into weapons, others prefer to create alternative forms for classic creatures. For instance, a Pokemon fan created a pseudo-legendary evolution for Seadra called Poseidra earlier this month. This new Water/Dragon-type Pokemon was a lot like Kingdra, but had stronger draconic aspects than its official counterpart.
