There’s a lot to love about open world gacha game Genshin Impact, but one of its most consistent elements is its soundtrack. So popular is the PS5 and PS4 game’s score that HoYoverse recently announced a series of global concerts, which will see the release’s music performed by live orchestras around the world.

Cygames hosted a special Japanese livestream for its upcoming Granblue Fantasy games earlier today, showcasing gameplay from both Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising (out in November) and Granblue Fantasy: Relink (out in February). The broadcast, which lasted over an hour (and can be watched with English subtitles), starts off with Versus, detailing the fighter's new characters, certain gameplay mechanics, and the title's wonderfully daft Fall Guys-esque platforming minigame, which can be played online.

The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails is an action RPG with platforming elements that started life on the PSP all the way back in 2012. And as is the case with so many of Falcom's lesser-known titles, it was never released outside of Japan. This new PS4 version, then, is a remaster of what some would consider to be a bit of a classic, and while we'd hesitate to put it on the same podium as, say, the best games in Falcom's Ys series, there's no doubt that The Legend of Nayuta is a blast to play.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and Dragon's Crown developer Vanillaware has announced its next game is a stunning tactical RPG that goes by the name of Unicorn Overlord. It's coming to PS5 and PS4 on 8th March 2024, and you can check out the announcement trailer above.

The superb manga and anime series Spy x Family, which sees undercover agent Loid Forger tasked with forming a faux family for his most difficult peace-keeping mission yet, is finally getting its first PS5 and PS4 game – and despite Bandai Namco being the publisher, it’s not an arena brawler. Developed by Groove Box Japan, Spy x Anya: Operation Memories will instead put you in control of Anya Forger, as you set out to create a photo diary with your new parents.

NIS America has released a playable demo for upcoming strategy RPG Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless. You can download it right now on PS5 and PS4, and the progress that you make can be carried over to the full game when it launches next month, on the 3rd October in North America, and the 6th October in Europe.

Is there any appetite for a deep, sci-fi roleplaying experience amongst the PlayStation faithful? Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is (shockingly) the first isometric CRPG set in Game's Workshop bleak universe, developed by Owlcat Games, creators of the excellent Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. It finally has a release date: prepare for a grimdark future in which there is only war from 7th December on PS5.

Level-5 is plotting a serious comeback this year, and its new crime suspense RPG DECAPOLICE is leading the way. The game has impressed ever since it was first revealed, and continues to look extremely promising in these two new trailers. The first video focuses on the overall concept of the game, with its virtual replica of the real world used to solve crimes. Meanwhile, the second video showcases an entire case, as suspects are questioned, clues are gathered, and arrests are made.

Sony’s engagement with enthusiasts is non-existent in the PS5 era, so of course we know very little about the imminent Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. We have to accept what we can get, then: like these new images of Peter Parker and Miles Morales in their respective default suits. As you’d expect from developer Insomniac Games, both outfits look ludicrously detailed.

Can you believe Rocket League is up to its 12th season? The ever-popular arcade game is still plugging away with regular updates, and the latest season begins today, 6th September. This time around, the free-to-play Soccar game is going rogue with hacker-themed content.

FromSoftware is still struggling to lock its games to 60 frames-per-second, it seems. The Japanese developer has a history of not quite reaching its technical targets, with beloved games like Bloodborne and even the much more recent Elden Ring exhibiting performance flaws — particularly on consoles. And it's the same old story with Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, according to the new analysis from Digital Foundry.

There has been some surprising news this week for fans of Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: the Leader Pass DLC has been released on all console platforms, including the PS4.
