Chinese Mini PC manufacturers are shaking things up in the Asian market with new AMD Ryzen 7040 "Phoenix" options with fancy designs.
The Mini PC market has been really vibrant throughout 2023 with loads of options to select from and AMD's Ryzen 7040 "Phoenix" APUs being the most popular choice thanks to their strong and very balanced CPU/GPU capabilities which is made possible with the Zen 4 and RDNA 3 cores. The Mini PC lineup has seen constant innovation and as the competition rises, we are seeing some new and fancier designs.
Starting with AooStar GOD78 Cyber, the mini-PC comes in a distinctive design, that gives off a futuristic vibe. In terms of specifications, the device features the famous AMD Ryzen 7040 "Phoenix" APU, the Ryzen 7 7840HS, which has been widely used in this Mini PC segment.
The APU features 8 cores and 16 threads based on the Zen 4 core architecture, 8 MB of L2 and 16 MB of L3 cache, & clocks of up to 5.1 GHz. It comes with a TDP that's configurable between 35-54W and also houses the Radeon 780M "RDNA 3" iGPU which packs 12 compute units running at 2700 MHz.
Speaking of the design language, AooStar has managed to integrate great performance with impressive aesthetics into a single package. The mini-PC comes in both black and white colors, along with several cutouts alongside the chassis for improved airflow. The device also has an RGB-lit fan inside, and the light comes out through diffusion, which tops up the overall look. Moreover, the GOD78 CYBER has the "Cyberpunk" branding engraved at the top, to compliment the general theme.
Thermal dissipation wouldn't be an issue with this mini-PC, since the manufacturer has incorporated a 9cm fan + dual heat pipe radiator, which ensures that adequate air volume is rotating around the unit. For USB compatibility, the device has a USB4 interface coupled with a front and dual network port (2.5GbE + 1.0 GbE) along with DP and HDMI support. The unit is currently at retail, with a discounted price of 2378 RMB or $325 as part of the "Double 11" sale running across the country. You can also find the 32 GB DDR5 and 1 TB storage configuration for $749 US here.
AooStar also has a more extravagant GOD77 variant which features very similar specs but the top of the chassis is replaced by an acrylic window which looks even better with the incoprorated RGB fan.
The other intriguing entrant in the mini-PC industry is PELADN's Silver Wing HA-4, which houses an overall metallic body and is suitable for those who are more inclined towards "minimalistic" products. The mini-PC again features AMD's Ryzen 7 7840HS "Phoenix" APU, along with support for dual-channel DDR5 memory.
The interesting element of the device is its metallic housing, which is a CNC-machined

Twitter was transformed into X earlier this year, and while the change was essentially a logo, name, and domain shift, company owner Elon Musk has much grander plans for his platform. From a simple messaging platform, in his own words, Musk wants to turn X into an ‘everything app', similar to China's WeChat, where people can do a bunch of different things outside of typical social media activities on the app itself. This can include even checking your bank account balance, applying for a job, watching a live stream, shopping for clothes, and even finding a date. Even if it sounds ridiculous, Musk is pretty serious about it and mentioned it all during the company's first all-hands employee meeting.
